Rising Stars: Meet Marcos Arredondo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcos Arredondo.

Hi Marcos, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I initially started cutting hair as a teenager for extra cash to make it through summer, not much 5-8 bucks per client and I continue cutting hair for my “battles” while I served in the Army from 2003-2007, after the military I worked a lot of jobs from county clerk to night club Dj and just about everything in between until I revisited barbering after a good friend of mine recommended it to me, saying why not master what you already do well instead of trying to be a man of many trades. That resonated with me. I brought it up to my GF Kimberly and soon thereafter I was in barber college. Here I am a year later working at the fastest trending barber shop in Midtown/Heights area,Cuts & Bruises. This family owned shop has blessed me with the opportunity to sharpen my skill, learn from seasoned barbers, and develop a game plan that will give my mobile service clients the ultimate experience they’ve been looking for.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth roads never make good drivers, clear skies never make good pilots, a problem-free life never makes a strong person, so do not ask life “WHY ME” say “TRY ME”. Adapting and overcoming situations most deem difficult or impossible has essentially been a way of life for me for as long as I could remember. For the most part barber college wasn’t difficult it’s up to you how long it takes to finish school and take your practical exams to become a licensed barber, you just have to find the time to attend 1000 hrs of schooling.. I typically tried to knock about 10-12 hrs a day.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in confidence-building & interpersonal communication, I’m not only a barber; I’m an open ear willing to listen, and I’m your own personal Hype man or relationship coach. I’m an expert and a professional who understands that time Is precious and limited. My attention to detail, consistency, and morals is what sets me apart from others

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
To be honest, I’m open to all avenues of support & collaboration. I respond to my social media as well as text messages myself, or just a simple like or share is cool too.
