Hi Mariella, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi! I’m Mariella, the CEO of Enchanted Creations HTX, a shop where I pour my creativity and passion into every piece I craft. My journey began in 2019, initially as a hobby, when I started making dreamcatchers. I’ve always been drawn to their meaningful symbolism — these beautiful talismans are believed to protect against bad dreams and negative energy, allowing only positive dreams to pass through. As a child, I struggled with nightmares, and I truly felt that having a dreamcatcher above my bed offered extra protection and peace during the night.
As I began creating these dreamcatchers, my abuelita (grandmother) started passing down jewelry-making materials she had around the house. Inspired by this, I expanded my creations to include bracelets and earrings, pieces I would wear myself. Soon, I found that I had more creations than I could use, and I decided to share them with others.
I launched an Etsy shop to sell my items online while working full-time. But it was until February of 2022 when I had the opportunity to set up a table at my first in-person event that my business truly took off. That experience changed everything, and I began receiving numerous invitations to pop-up markets. These events have been life-changing, allowing me to connect with incredible people and grow my business in ways I never imagined.
Today, you can find me at various Pop-Up Markets around Houston or shop my creations on my website, enchantedcreationshtx.com. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m so grateful for the people and experiences that continue to shape Enchanted Creations HTX.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been both smooth and challenging, in different ways. On the one hand, the pop-up markets have been an incredible opportunity for growth and exposure, and I’ve been fortunate to experience success in that aspect. On the other hand, the road hasn’t been without its personal challenges. There have been many mental and emotional hurdles I’ve had to overcome to get to where I am today.
I’ve had to work through issues like building my confidence, learning to recognize and embrace my worth without seeking external validation, and finding my authentic voice. One of the biggest struggles has been not letting others’ opinions or beliefs about being at markets define me or dictate my path. These internal battles were crucial to my growth, and it’s been a process of healing and self-discovery that has shaped who I am now, both personally and as a business owner.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Enchanted Creations HTX, I create jewelry and accessories that come straight from my heart. I specialize in pieces that incorporate crystals, Ojo protection, and seasonal holiday themes. Each item I make is crafted with positive energy and love, and I take great pride in the personal connection each creation holds.
I’m known for my bubbly personality and the positive energy I bring into everything I do. What I’m most proud of is having the courage to turn my passion into a business, to take that leap and create something meaningful.
What sets me apart is simply being myself. There’s only one me, and I believe that authenticity is what truly makes my creations unique. I pour my heart and soul into everything I make, and it’s that personal touch that connects with my customers.
