Hi Melvin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
From Public Servant to Servicing Shears, The Sharp As Shhh🤫 story; A year a so back; my daughter, who is a professional hair stylist and salon owner, was expressing issues regarding finding quality and honest sharpening businesses to care for and sharpen her trade tools, shears! Learning this, I began researching beauty shears and sharpening techniques that would create a sharp as shhh🤫 edge; hence my business name. I studied, bought equipment and was schooled by professional sharpener teachers to ensure perfection. After buying shears and scissors to practice and perfect the trade, I started visiting salons providing quality shear service with fair pricing. Here is why and how.
The reason why I’m doing what I do is for two reasons. One; as I see how hard the salon industry works; like my daughter, charging excessive fees for sharpening is ridiculous. Two, I have a career and in a couple of years a reasonable retirement; therefore, I don’t need to ask for excessive rates to service and sharpen. I have found all salons I have provided service to are filled with wonderful, hard-working and professional stylists. I like that, brings out the good in a day. Not only does my company sharpen shears, we sharpen anything with an edge or made for cutting.
Sharp As Shhh🤫; by popular demand, has branched out into the shear sales business as well. Being asked about quality shears and not having to pay an arm and leg to get them like needed with some other brands, I did what I do. Research! After extensive research and negotiations with shear manufacturers and suppliers, the SASS Shear Company (Sharp As Shhh🤫 Shear Co.) was born. Wearing the SASS brand (thesasscompany.com, I’m able to provide quality Japanese Steel Shears at a low price; again, I like helping good people. I carry in stock shears to show as I visit salons and I have a large stock in the warehouse. I recently launched the shear company site; www.thesasscompany.com

It’s been smooth, no worries, no stress, just providing a reasonably priced service to hard-working people when needed.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been a life long Public Servant, Law Enforcement since 1988. Though I have done this as my life’s work, I have always been a more artistic type of person which differed me from others in my profession. I always had music (musician) and flying aircraft (pilot) as a hobby to escape from the reality of society. I have always had outside interests in business and doing something enabling positive interaction with good people. It’s these things that without a doubt set me apart from others!
