Rising Stars: Meet Miracle Bey of Spring, Tx

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Miracle Bey

Hi Miracle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am twenty-seven years old from Baton Rouge, La. I have been living here in Texas since June of 2019. I have a background in Culinary Arts and I attended Nicholls State University. I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors in Culinary Arts. In November of 2021, I started my catering company Catering Miracles LLC. I moved to Houston for the diverse job opportunities here. When I first moved here, I focused on working the jobs I had. In January of 2022, I started offering private chef services and many other services with my catering company in the Houston area. In July of 2022, I was presented the opportunity to experience my first floating brunch. I thought it was a really cool service that I could offer with my catering company. I made the decision to start offering that additional service. I ordered my baskets that same day and went into planning mode. I was intentional with what I chose to serve my food on and other necessary items as I knew I was creating a brand for this service. During this time, I learned that swimply.com would be the best way to offer my services as many do not own private pools. On swimply.com, my clients can rent out a pool for a few hours starting as low as $25 an hour. Once I received my baskets, I booked my first gig that August. I have been growing my business over the past two years to what it is today. It started as a floating brunch service even though we offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner on our menu from the beginning. I decided to switch from offering a floating brunch to a dining on water service because we offer fine dining on the water. In October of 2023, I did an amazing collaboration with four of Houston’s amazing foodies. @Hougottatrythis reel went viral and my companies’ Instagram gained about four thousand new followers during this time. I also booked about five more clients before the end of October came. I was featured on Fox 26 during that time and again in June of 2024. I spent the winter months of 2023 elevating and enhancing the experience to where it is today. In January of 2024, I officially made Luxurious Floating Miracles its own separate LLC outside of my catering company. Luxurious Floating Miracles LLC offers multiple services such as our dining on water service and basket rental with our add-ons. This year I trained a team to be ready for a busy summer. Doing this really helps take some of the load off all the work I usually have to do by myself, and has helped keep the business organized.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been smooth, but at the same time it has not been rough. Due to it being a new industry, there were lessons to learn and many things to think about. Keeping up with social media was probably the hardest struggle because that is how we get most of our clients. I made the conscious decision to hire a social media manager, and she has made that part much easier now. I do not have to worry about doing the posts, but I respond to the messages we receive through the social media accounts. I think the biggest struggle was not having a team during my first year. I have built an amazing team over the past few months and they have made things a lot easier to handle. It is honestly not about making all the money for myself when I can have others help which takes the load off. I get to have some free time in my day as I still work a full-time job. Working a full-time job and being an entrepreneur will always be the biggest struggle, until I can take the time to just run my business full-time.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the Production Manager II for Sodexo at School. I work with Kipp Houston and Yes Prep. I specialize at this particular job in making sure that the inventory for over fifty schools is in order and helping the chefs with their orders. I do many other tasks that aid both the team of managers and employees. During the summer, I also cook the food for some of the schools for summer school. I have been a manager at most of my jobs. One of my biggest accomplishments was accepting my first Executive Chef/Director of Dining Services job in 2020 when I was twenty years old.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I know that the culinary industry itself is always changing and becoming a more creative space. As for floating brunches, they are here to stay. People love to be in the pool or poolside. When you add food in the pool it becomes an even more wanted experience. I do expect to see more people offering floating brunches in the United States as there are currently very few.
