Today we’d like to introduce you to Monie Nolovve
Hi Monie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I dedicated fourteen years of my life to a small business until December 2023, when I was forced to resign as CFO due to poor decisions made by the owner. While visiting my dad in Colombia for my birthday, he passed away the day after my resignation. I returned home grieving and unemployed, struggling to process my loss while still needing to care for my family and manage my bills. I went from a six-figure income to earning nothing. With finding a new job proving difficult, I knew I had to act quickly. I began to take content creation serious, growing my platform organically and focusing on monetization. I launched my brand, Jus Monie, and started creating content across various platforms. Despite facing moments of doubt, judgment, and criticism for using certain platforms that were frowned upon, I persisted. I’ve dealt with mental health challenges and failing businesses, but I’ve remained determined to succeed despite the obstacles in my path.
my mission is To empower young women to pursue wealth and attain financial independence through both traditional and non-traditional avenues. I aim to highlight the validity of non-traditional sources of income, emphasizing that any income can contribute to building wealth and achieving financial freedom. While my focus is on young women due to my own experiences, I aspire to inspire and support anyone facing similar challenges, reminding them that resilience and determination can overcome obstacles on the path to success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey has been far from easy. Being in the public eye can be challenging, with negativity and criticism constantly coming your way. You really have to develop tough skin. Also, When you’re used to a certain lifestyle and it suddenly changes, it makes you realize how quickly things can be taken away. Anxiety and depression have also tried to hold me back, but I fight through those battles every day. Despite the challenges, I keep pushing forward because I know that tough times don’t last forever, and I am determined to succeed no matter what.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently create content across six social media platforms, I am signed to a talent agency in Houston, and also run a virtual assistant company. My goal is to leverage my platform to land commercials and TV roles. I’ve recently been invited to participate in a short film. I’m always seeking opportunities to grow and expand my resume, with the long-term vision of opening a content creation studio to support other creators in bringing their ideas to life. While I wouldn’t call myself an expert yet, I’ve built a following of over 200k with nearly 10 million views across all platforms. I’m open to collaborating with fellow content creators, companies, or brands. I’m most proud of maintaining my momentum since my resignation, learning to monetize my personality and who I truly am. What sets me apart is my refusal to let others’ opinions hold me back—I’m committed to taking care of myself and won’t let anyone’s judgment stand in the way of my success.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice to those starting out is to be yourself. Follow your heart when making decisions. Set goals and work towards achieving each and every one. Be disciplined, determined, and stay focused. It’s easy to get distracted, but always remember your purpose, and if you fall down, get back up and push harder. I really wish I had known not to worry about what others would say or think. Not everyone is going to agree with your content, and that’s okay. Focus on the positive, not the negative.
