Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Fowler.
Hi Pam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story of where I am today started a long time ago.
At the age of 3, I took my first airplane ride. My family moved from California to South America. I don’t remember a lot from that first flight – the little dress I wore, the excitement, and getting air sickness. But since that initial flight, I have lived in 8 different countries, had over 19 different homes, and traveled extensively across 5 different continents. Needless to say, I love to travel. I love airports, people watching, the excitement, the new adventures they lead to.
So last year when I started having anxiety attacks that eventually led to me being unable to even get to the airport, I knew I needed help.
I started with my usual aids: medication (SSRIs), meditation, Tapping and breathing exercises, etc. Nothing worked. The anxiety attacks were literally taking over my life. I was afraid to leave the house alone, in case I had an attack while I was out. The cause, frequency, and duration were so random, I really didn’t know what to expect or when to expect it. I constantly had a knot in my stomach.
Then I was introduced to IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback (IASIS MCN) – a gentle, noninvasive technology that supports the brain’s ability to reset and heal. After my first treatment, my daily stomachache was gone. For my first two months of sessions, I just focused on my personal results. The anxiety attacks decreased in frequency and duration and eventually went away completely. If I started feeling nervous, my old methods of Tapping and breathing began working again, allowing me to start living my life again. Within two months, I was flying again to see family with no problems.
What I also noticed during these IASIS MCN sessions were other changes. My sleep improved, my thoughts became clearer, and I experienced a calmness I hadn’t felt in years. It was like my brain could finally take a deep breath. I truly felt like my brain had reset and I was becoming my old self again. And as my old self, I could let my passion out again and this time, it was about sharing this incredible tool that truly changed my life.
As a nurse and later as a teacher, I’ve always been drawn to helping people. During my nursing career in the maternal-child field, I worked with patients and families who were dealing with levels of stress that affected them in so many ways…it seemed insurmountable. Later, while teaching nursing at the college level, I watched students and faculty carry heavy loads of stress every single day. And most recently, as an international primary school teacher moving across different countries, I saw the same story play out in classrooms and communities around the world.
Stress doesn’t discriminate — it impacts all of us, no matter our age, culture, or life circumstance.
That’s why my experience with IASIS MCN felt like more than just personal healing. It was a reminder that our brains — and our nervous systems — are often carrying more than we realize. And with the right support, they can find their balance again.
What surprised me most was not just the relief of my anxiety, but the ripple effect. Clearer thinking. Deeper sleep. A sense of calm that felt brand new, but also like coming home to myself. It wasn’t just about fixing a problem; it was about uncovering potential I didn’t know was still inside me.
That’s when I knew I wanted to share this tool with others. My journey has always been about caring for people – first in hospitals, then in classrooms – and now through Galenoia Brain Wellness. Here, I bring together my background in nursing, my love of teaching, and the science of neurofeedback to help others find their calm, their clarity, and their best selves.
Maybe for you, the struggle isn’t airports and anxiety. Maybe it’s sleepless nights, constant stress, or just a fog that won’t lift. Whatever it is, I want you to know there’s hope. IASIS MCN isn’t about forcing change; it’s about giving your brain the chance to reset and do what it was designed to do: help you thrive. My hope is that my story encourages you to believe that change is possible and that you don’t have to live stuck in survival mode.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening Galenoia Brain Wellness (IASIS MCN provider) has not been a smooth road, but it has been one of constant learning and growth. This is the first business I have ever owned, and each step along the way has stretched me in new ways. One of the biggest challenges has been introducing IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback to Huntsville, Texas, because most people have never heard of MCN. At times, that has been frustrating, but it has also been deeply rewarding. It has pushed me to slow down, to listen, and to meet people where they are. Educating others, breaking down complex neuroscience into relatable language, and helping people feel safe exploring something new has shaped not only how I run my business, but why Galenoia Brain Wellness exists in the first place.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Health and Wellness – IASIS Microcurrent Neuroscience Provider
Caring for people has been the heartbeat of my life, ever since childhood and now as a wife, mother, nurse and teacher. In my nursing career (which I began in the US Army), I worked not only directly with patients but also teaching nursing at the college level where I saw firsthand not only the stress and anxiety of illness on patients and their families, but also the stress that students and faculty can carry every single day.
After retiring from nursing, life took me overseas for 15 years, where I became an international primary school teacher. I lived and worked in multiple countries, each new culture bringing incredible experiences but also its share of challenges. I’ve witnessed and personally felt the impact of life’s stressors, and I know how essential brain wellness is for navigating through them with resilience.
When I discovered IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback, it wasn’t just another tool-it became part of my own healing journey. This gentle, noninvasive technology helped me find clarity, calm, and balance in ways I didn’t think possible. Now through Galenoia Brain Wellness, I’m honored to share it with others so they can experience the same transformation.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I have never really believed in luck. I have always believed in God’s hand guiding my life, often in ways that only make sense looking back. This journey has been no different. When I was at my lowest, struggling and searching for answers, God placed an IASIS practitioner in my life, even though at the time I had no idea what IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback was. That moment became a turning point. Through my own experience of healing, clarity began to emerge, not just personally, but professionally. My background as a nurse and an educator gave me the language to understand what was happening and the desire to share it with others. What began as personal restoration slowly unfolded into a calling, and from that calling, Galenoia Brain Wellness was born.
