Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhea President.
Hi Rhea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Rhea President and I’m originally from Punta Gorda, Belize. My family and I migrated to Houston in 2001. I’ve been married to my soulmate, Marvin President, for 8 years now and we have two amazing daughters, Rheisha and Reena. They’ve both blossomed into wonderful young women and I am so incredibly proud of them.
Professionally, I have been in the banking industry for over 28 years and currently work in management at Comerica Bank.
Whereas banking is my 9-5, my travel business is my 5-9. My husband and I love to travel so it made sense to start my phone-based travel business. I truly enjoy providing concierge travel service to my clients but the best part is showing others how to do the same. Travel is exhilarating and a very profitable avenue of business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am proud of my banking career that started in Belize at the age of 16. From there, I worked my way up the ranks until I relocated to Houston where I worked at a credit union as a part time teller. Due to my hard work, I was promoted from a part time teller to a manager within four years.
In 2019, I started my travel business and then the pandemic hit causing everything to shut down in 2020. During that time, I took the chance to get trained by different vendors, earn certifications and promote my business. While a lot of people got discouraged and folded, I persevered and got trained in the travel industry. Today, my business is thriving from repeat business and referrals.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The most fulfilling aspect of my banking career is educating my clients on financial products, assisting them with establishing or rebuilding their credit, guiding them through tough life changes and just being a trusted advisor.
In my travel business, I create one of a kind vacation packages tailored exactly to my clients’ needs. I cover every detail of their trip from the flights, resort, airport transfers, excursions and more. I also educate them on COVID restrictions, protocols and so much more. My services are completely free. I also love to surprise my clients with a special gift in their room at check in. I book everything travel related including group travel like bachelorette trips, destination weddings, all-inclusive destinations, Disney, Universal Studios, Europe, Asia, Caribbean and so much more.
What matters most to you? Why?
Faith and family are the two most important things to me. My faith has carried me through every obstacle that life has thrown at me. As a domestic abuse survivor, my faith in God has motivated me to overcome my circumstances.
On top of that, my family means everything to me. I make every decision with them in mind and strive to be a living example to my girls. I’m proud to say that I accomplished that mission:) They are both beautiful, intelligent, caring, hardworking and the sweetest people you could ever meet.
