Rising Stars: Meet Sean And Andrea of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean And Andrea.

Hi Sean and, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Our journey hasn’t been a straight line, but that’s exactly what has given our work meaning.

I am Sean King and alongside my wife, Andrea, we’ve dedicated ourselves to building businesses and organizations that create opportunities for others while providing a better future for our own family.

Life has taught us resilience. We’ve experienced setbacks, disappointments, and seasons where it would have been easy to give up. Instead, we chose to let those experiences shape us rather than define us. We learned that every obstacle can become the foundation for something greater.

Andrea has spent more than a decade as a respiratory therapist, caring for patients and some of their most vulnerable moments. Her compassion, professionalism, and servants heart have always inspired me. While she continues serving in healthcare, she also has begun building Lung Logic, an educational company focused on respiratory health and community education.

My own path has been different but equally transformative. After overcoming my past and rebuilding my life, I became passionate about helping others realize that their story doesn’t have to end where it began. That passion led to creating FunGlow Community Initiative of Texas, and we are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals returning from incarceration, mentoring youth, and strengthening families through education, resources, and opportunity.

Together, we also own FunGlow Boutique Hall in Baytown texas. What started as a venue quickly became much more than a place to hold celebrations. We wanted to create a welcoming space where families could gather, celebrate milestones, and make memories that last a lifetime. Every event we host reminds us that we’re not simply renting a building… we’re helping people celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

Everything we build is connected by one purpose: serving people. Whether it’s helping a family celebrate a birthday, educating a community about respiratory health, mentoring someone rebuilding their life, or creating opportunities for young people to trink bigger, our mission remains the same.

As we continue to grow, one of our greatest hopes is to build meaningful relationships with other non-profits, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations throughout Baytown and the surrounding areas who share a passion for serving others. We believe that real change happens through collaboration, and we’re always excited to learn from others, support their missions, and explore ways we can work together to strengthen our community. We’re still writing our story, and in many ways, we believe the best chapters are still ahead. If our journey inspires even one person-or opens the door to a new partnership that helps make a difference… than every step we’ve taken has been worth it.

Sean ♥️ Andrea

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can honestly say that it hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, we’ve faced financial challenges, moments of uncertainty, and the constant balancing act of building a dream while still working full-time careers. There were times when we questioned whether we were taking on too much, but every obstacle reminded us why we started in the first place.

Sean’s journey has been especially meaningful. After returning home from incarceration, he was he faced a lot of setbacks and there were moments when he wanted to throw in the towel. But I was determined to help my husband build a different future.., not just for himself, but for our family as well as those who we feel deserved a second chance. Rebuilding your life comes with challenges that many people never see, but those experiences shaped our purpose instead of defining our limits.

And I have continued working as a respiratory practitioner while helping to grow FunGlow Boutique Hall and launching my company “Lung Logic”, as an educational respiratory consulting business. So I suppose, at the end of the day, between balancing long hospital shifts, and family responsibilities, I can honestly say, entrepreneurship hasn’t always been easy, but we’ve learned that consistency matters more than perfection.

One of our biggest lessons has been the realization that success isn’t built overnight. It’s built through late nights, sacrifices, setbacks, in the willingness to keep moving forward when things don’t go as planned. Every event we host, every family we serve, and every connection we make reminds us that the journey is worth it. Those challenges have also inspired us to create the FunGlow Community Initiative, where our mission is to help others through mentorship, Youth development, reentry support, and community partnerships. Our struggles didn’t stop us… they gave us a greater purpose!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Professionally, I wear several hats, but they all share one purpose… serving people.

For the last 11 years, I’ve worked as a respiratory practitioner, caring for patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. That career has taught me compassion, patience, critical thinking, and the importance of educating people so they can better understand their health. Those same values inspired me to launch Lung Logic, where I provide respiratory education and consulting to individuals, caregivers, organizations, and communities. My goal is to make complex respiratory topics easy to understand while helping people feel more confident in managing their health.

Alongside my husband, Sean, I’m also the co-owner of FunGlow Boutique Hall, where we specialize in creating beautiful, affordable celebrations that bring families together. Every event is personal to us because we know we’re helping people create memories they’ll carry for a lifetime.

My husband also serves as a Youth and Reentry Consultant through our non-profit, the FunGlow Community Initiative. Having experience the challenges of rebuilding his own life after incarceration, he has dedicated himself to helping others find hope, purpose and opportunity. Through mentorship, life skills, workforce readiness, and community partnerships, he works to show young people and returning citizens that their past doesn’t have to determine their future. Watching him turn his own story into a source of Hope for others is something I’m incredibly proud of.

But what I’m most proud of is the fact that everything we’ve built has been driven by purpose. Whether I’m caring for patients in the hospital, educating families through Lung Logic, helping someone celebrate a milestone in our venue, or supporting the work our non-profit is doing in the community, the goal is always the same… to leave people better than we found them.

I believe that what truly sets us apart is that we don’t see people as customers, clients, or participants. We see them as individuals with stories that matter. We lead with compassion, authenticity, and a genuine desire to make a lasting impact. For us, success isn’t measured only by business growth… it’s measured by the lives we touch and the relationships we build along the way.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I guess for me, Sean, the biggest lesson that I’ve learned is that consistency matters more than perfection. There were times when things didn’t go as planned, and I’ve made mistakes that could have easily defined the rest of my life if I had let them. Instead, I learned that every day is another opportunity to grow, make better decisions, and keep moving forward. I’ve also realized that success isn’t just about what you accomplish for yourself it’s about creating opportunities for others. That’s become the driving force behind everything we’re building today.

And as far as me, Andrea, the biggest lesson I had to learn has been that “you don’t have to limit yourself to one path.” I’ve always loved working as a respiratory practitioner and caring for patients, but I’ve learned that I can use those same skills to educate people through Lung Logic, help families create special memories through our event hall, and support our nonprofit’s mission alongside Sean. I’ve also learned that building something meaningful takes patience. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but if you stay committed to your purpose and continue serving people well, the rest will follow.
