Today we’d like to introduce you to Shamim Malowa
Hi Shamim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Started out at a call centre and left as a Team Leader before joining the property world.
As a luxury realtor, I have worked my way up through working with different developers locally and abroad. The journey has had lots of curves and turns, learning all through and becoming a better version of myself each day. I love challenges as they make you discover a skill, learn patience and tolerance or endurance you never thought you posses. The process pushes you to solutions and learning more. I term it as the process of making diamonds.
Through it all I have grown in my career and as a person, I learn all that as you strive to make a living, you shouldn’t forget to live a little; travel, learn a new skill, be dependable, fall in love with life entirely and when you put God first, He puts all your affairs in order.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A good journey comes with its fair share of challenges.
In employment the biggest challenge is having an insecure boss and when the organizations vision and yours no longer align.
In business one has to be to maintain the motivation and mojo when all hope seems to be lost. We are experiencing a buyer’s market hence most often than not the buyer becomes the master of the bargain.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a luxury realtor based in Nairobi with tentacles across the globe.
I specialize in high-end luxury developed real estate. People refer / know me as the best closer in town and top of the line when it comes to luxury property Marketing and PR.
I pride myself for having been able to set up departments from scratch to fully operational departments with competent teams over the years.
I also pride myself in having been part of projects that have delivered over the years both locally and in diaspora markets.
My work ethic, focus, discipline, dependability and the ability to follow through on matters, do set me apart from the rest.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Consistence, patience, hard work and prayers make the dream work. Be practical in all you do. When it rains, stop and dance in the rain.
Most important is knowing why you started, celebrate the small wins, cut yourself some slack and always clap for yourself even if no one does.
