Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Davis.
Hi Sierra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I never knew a title for what I wanted to be regarding putting myself in the public eye. I knew that I connected with many women who shared similar stories but did not have anyone to who they could relate—being a single mother and navigating life challenges and changes such as dating, finances, mental health, etc. I could not find a one size fit all box for someone who shared those similarities, so I decided I could be the person I needed at one point in time for others.
I still don’t claim a title, but I know I have a voice, and even if I only impact a few people through my platform, it makes me feel good knowing that I could be an inspiration to others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to becoming a blogger and content creator has not been easy, and I still struggle with things as a newbie. The fear of being judged on not being successful in the industry is an obstacle I am navigating through and honestly almost stopped me from pursuing this goal and maintaining personal responsibilities, being a mother, working, and returning to school. It can be a lot but so far has been rewarding!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
While building my community online, I am also a full-time student pursuing a degree in Social Work. After I graduate, I plan to be a school social worker, where I can be a vital link between school, home, and community.
