Today, we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Parks.
Hi Stephen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started from humble beginnings. My father was a sergeant in the army. He was a DJ, so I have had an influence in music for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. I, like everyone else, have Storms in life. My Faith has carried me through. I have always believed in Midcoast Entertainment’s sound and core mission to make Music for Everyone. I struggled and strived as a Single father and entrepreneur; I have a Telecommunications construction company that I have built from the ground up to support and raise my family. It’s a balancing act now that the music is gaining TRACTION. We celebrated our first single to chart #23 on iTunes recently with the song “SHENASTYFT S.B.L.&JAZ-O.” T.U.R.F (Territory-Undisputedly-Received-Fighting) Music is the sound we are bringing to the Game. T.U.R.F MUSIC represents the underdogs, the lost, the downtrodden, the hopeless. Our goal is to give back hope to anyone who hears our music and is interested in our story. I have been given stewardship over the most talented people I have ever met. And it’s my duty to Present my artists to the World. We represent Kansas City, Missouri, first, but Our journey has brought us to the fine city of Houston. Its diverse music scene is the perfect place for Midcoast Entertainment on this level of our journey to Progress to the next level in Entertainment.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road definitely wasn’t easy. There were places, people, and finances lost. I thank God for all the family, friends, and FANS who held us down all these years. From traveling to nights with no sleep. Grinding our way to the top. We have lost loved ones and so many things that can’t be replaced to fulfill our Dreams. So for Everyone and Everything lost, we give 150%.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a person who was blessed to be educated about many different disciplines. Music is the one gift from God that flows out of me. I am a songwriter, producer, engineer, artist, label owner, and a single father. My son POPOUTJE is as hard-working as I am about the music. It makes parenting easier because we are together. So I don’t have to worry much. I am also a budding cinematographer and have scripts in the works, as well as creating our visuals for Midcoast Entertainment content and music. I Love it all. Even though it gets hectic most days.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Mentoring is a tricky subject because it can be a double-edged sword. So, my advice is find someone who aligns with who you are and what you want from the next 5 years. It will make certain of the direction you are wanting to go. As far networking goes, I have truly been blessed by God. To have had the right folks come across my path in Life and This journey into Entertainment.
