Today we’d like to introduce you to Tam-Mesha Moore.
Tam-Mesha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
CEO of Aspen Grey Candles. I started making candles as a hobby during the pandemic, but quickly that hobby turned into my passion. I have always had a love for luxury candles. After suggesting that I might try making my own to my mother, I decided to go for it! Being able to share my creativity with my fragrances brings me joy. It was important that my candles be made with coconut soy wax and as many essential oils as possible. The specific wax I am using is vegan, non-toxic, gluten-free, cruelty-free, phthalate-free, and carcinogen-free. All these positive notes provide a clean burn each time, and the crackle from the wooden wicks I use is a bonus.
I launched in 2021 with my Signature Collection. Now, I have multiple collections in rotation depending on the season; there is always something for everyone. My vision is to branch out and expand beyond candles and wax melts.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The beginning of the pandemic in 2020 was hard on everything, but it was life-altering for my family and me. I lost my mother to COVID-19 in November 2020, and at that moment, I did not want to continue this journey. But I know my mother would not want me to give up on something that brought me so much joy. So after months of testing and trying to narrow down the path I wanted to take with my brand, I came up with Aspen Grey. I know she would be beyond ecstatic for me and what I have been able to bring to life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently back in school obtaining my Master’s degree in Human Resouce Management. I am also currently working in the Human Resource industry with a great company while I continue to grow my candle business and turn this into my full-time career.
I am most proud of everything that I have been able to accomplish in such a short time. My drive and determination set me apart from others. I know that I have been put on this earth for greatness, and with my guardian angel looking over me, I will make Aspen Grey Candles a success.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have to give credit to my family and friends. They have been my biggest cheerleaders and supporters. Aspen Grey would not be where it is today without them.
