Rising Stars: Meet Tamekah Bost of North Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamekah Bost

Hi Tamekah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story starts in Philadelphia but for sake of this interview I will start in Houston. I relocated here a little over two years and hit the ground running. Starting over in a new city can be daunting, but I was motivated by passion grief and love my father passed shortly after moving and he was my high champion since opening my food truck I knew from that day on I had to succeed to honor him. So now the goal is to do just that.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly it’s been a journey a lot of highs and lows but not to boost I’ve been lower and once you hit the bottom it’s only up from there. I’m not afraid of hard work and no matter what comes my way I will power through I have no choice.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an entrepreneur and proud Foodtruck owner going on 7 years this January. Outside of my foodtruck since moving to Houston I have also taken on the role of digital creator and social media manger. Last I also do consulting work for small businesses with in the food industry people value my opinion and experience one of the biggest blessings of “failing” at something you learn how to navigate and if lucky you grow from that experience and thus you can council others how to avoid. Which translates to another stream of income for me

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Whatever it is that you plan to do understand entrepreneurship is a journey and like many state it is not for the weak. Understand and find comfort in uncertainty that is the true essence of entrepreneurship. Everyday could be a potential lesson and you must be ready to take heed to that fact

Pricing:

  • Consultation starts at $600
  • Social media management starts at $1200
  • Promotion starts as low as $100
  • Foodtruck booking starts at $750
