Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasiah Iman.
Tasiah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From childhood, I have been drawn to music, storytelling, learning, and exploration. Growing up as the oldest of six, I was naturally the organizer, the planner, the one holding things together – and those instincts have shaped the path I’m on today. I am currently wrapping up my second year as a Young Artist with DACAMERA, an educational writer with WITS, and a freelance creative producer, curator, and performer – and I am only just getting started.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey has not been smooth. But then again, if life is not moving up and down, wouldn’t that be a flat line? Struggles and challenges don’t stop. However, the degree and how they look can change with time and your own influence. Staying present and taking note of what works and what doesn’t -whether that be people, ideas, beliefs, and/or environments -will help mold what you grow through and become. I find that in my life, recentering myself on this value, as well as trusting in God’s plan for me and remembering the little joys in life, has supported and continues to push me to rise up. From loss of friendships, family, and dozens of nos and doubts to life’s restraints — leaning on this reminder keeps me grounded.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
I constantly feel that I am starting over at new levels of where I am in life, whether it be my career, day-to-day life, or my creativity. This allows me to continue to be a student even when aspects of ‘mastery’ have been met. I am no expert on life by any means, but if there is anything valuable that I can share about being a creative entrepreneur, it is to give yourself grace, stay open and focused on what God has ordained for you, and make sure your circle sharpens, loves, and values all that you are. Your voice and vision being set free is on the other side of deep faith, intentional commitment to structure, and child-like presence.
