Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Cole.
Taylor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started as a curve model in 2019. There was a lack of representation of plus-size models in the market, and I wanted to change that. I decided my first photo shoot at the time would be a boudoir photo shoot. As someone who has struggled with body issues, insecurities, and weight problems all of my life, that photo shoot was the boost of confidence that I needed. Now. I would consider myself a huge advocate of body positivity and helping women to love and appreciate their bodies through all of its stages. Maybe 6 months after that photo shoot, I started reaching out to photographers and going to casting calls throughout the state of Texas, and that’s started my journey to being a curve model. I was able to make connections everywhere, and anytime an event was coming up; someone would reach out to me to see if I was interested. Since then, I’ve been able to walk for a celebrity designer as well as participate in Texas Fashion Week.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve had my share of ups and downs, but that’s with anything. I’ve been rejected from modeling agencies due to height requirements down to my size. It may feel like a setback in the moment, but I know the right door will open for me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would say I wear many hats. Outside of modeling, I am a Corporate Recruiter for an IT company. Last year, I completed my master’s degree in hospitality and Tourism Management. Lastly, I am a content creator. I love connecting with brands and showing my creative side. Eventually, I would like to become a full-time content creator or a Social Media Manager within the hospitality industry.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My parents have been a huge part of my success, they support me whenever I have an idea, no matter how crazy it may sound, but they are they’re along the way. The next person would be my partner in crime and best friend. I even made her my personal photographer. She supports me like no other and is my biggest cheerleader.
