Story & Lesson Highlights with Lulu Romero of Kingwood

We recently had the chance to connect with Lulu Romero and have shared our conversation below.

Lulu, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
My biggest teacher besides life, is my son. His enthusiasm for learning in life, the joy of being a kid and his curiosity are reminders to see life with fresh eyes, pay and stay present.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My work is all about creating intentional tools & experiences to help bring people back to themselves. Each piece is design to be reminder to move with intention, mindfulness and clarity. Over time my work has expanded into healing arts where i now offer reiki and sound bath sessions that creates a safe space to release, rest and renew. What excites me the most is seeing how art and healing align together. My brand continues to grow in ways to honor creativity and spiritually with space, products and experiences.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My son was the first person who truly made me feel seen, real, human, present, worthy. His stare, his need for me, his unconditional love, it awakened something I knew I was missing. Unit I had my baby, i never truly felt love. Through him i discovered strength and power I had long suppressed, buried deep subconsciously without even realizing it. He reminded me how worthy I am living.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me empathy. Im not saying success can’t teach you but growing up in suffering shaped me differently. It made me never want to hurt anyone, to never be the source of someone else’s pain. It reminds me that everyone carries a story one that may never be told, yet we still wake up and continue with life.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Theres’s days where I catch me feeling like an imposter. I spend much time of my life practicing and preaching mindfulness yet there’s some days I don’t want silence. I just want to feel and release.

To answer this question, yes, this version i show publicly is still my authentic self. By allowing myself to let go behind closed doors, I’m still honoring my true spirit. My morals and values remain the same, respect, honest, fairness and loyalty, these are just a few, you name it. Those are the seeds I have sown and roots I live by., even when my practices shift with my season soul i remain authentic and light.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely, always. It’s about fulfilling my desires, and they come from my inner child dreams. I’m in love with the opportunity I have to be able to create and inspire. In anything i do i will do to my fullest protentional for myself and of course to inspire my greatest creation, my son.
