We recently had the chance to connect with Lynda Carouthers and have shared our conversation below.
Lynda, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am walking a path guided by faith. I trust that God orders my steps even when the direction is not always clear to me. While I have goals and purpose, I remain open to where He leads because some of the greatest growth in my life has come through moments of uncertainty. I believe every step has meaning and that even what feels unexpected is part of a greater plan.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Lynda Carouthers. I am a mother, entrepreneur, realtor, and advocate who is deeply committed to faith, family, and service. I am one of the founders of Allegiance to Children LLC, which my business partner, Carrie Pryor, and I launched in 2025, with the mission of providing safe, nurturing, and faith-grounded homes for children in need. I am also a licensed realtor and the team lead of Carouthers Investment Group, where I work with families and investors to build stability and long-term wealth through real estate.
Alongside my professional work, I share my journey as a caregiver, homeschool parent, and content creator, offering encouragement, transparency, and practical resources for families navigating real life challenges. What makes my story unique is that everything I build is rooted in obedience, resilience, and trust in God’s timing. I believe purpose is revealed through service, and I am currently focused on expanding my agency, growing my real estate team, and using my platform to inspire hope and create meaningful impact.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was curious, compassionate, and deeply observant. I was someone who felt things deeply and cared about people, even when I did not yet have the words to explain it. I was drawn to helping, listening, and finding meaning in the lives of others.
As life unfolded, expectations, responsibilities, and survival shaped me in ways that required strength and resilience. Over time, faith helped me reconnect with who I was created to be. I learned that my sensitivity was a gift, my leadership was intentional, and my purpose was always rooted in service. Today, I see my early self not as lost, but as protected, patiently waiting for the season where calling and courage would align.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life came from carrying responsibility early and learning to be strong before I felt ready. I experienced seasons of loss, disappointment, and isolation that taught me how to survive, but also challenged my sense of identity and trust. For a long time, I believed strength meant doing everything alone and pushing through pain without pause.
Healing began when I allowed faith to lead instead of fear. I learned to release control, seek support, and give myself permission to rest and reflect. Prayer, obedience, and surrender helped me understand that my wounds did not disqualify me. They refined me. Today, those experiences shape how I lead, serve, and show compassion to others. I no longer see my past as something to overcome, but as evidence of God’s grace working through every chapter of my life.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is integrity. Integrity in how we lead, how we treat people, and how we show up when no one is watching. I believe integrity is rooted in faith and reflected through honesty, accountability, and compassion.
In a world that often rewards shortcuts and performance, I choose to protect character, commitment, and respect for others. This value shapes how I parent, how I lead teams, and how I serve families and communities. When integrity is preserved, trust is built, and lasting impact becomes possible.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I loved deeply and showed up even when life was hard. That I trusted God with my whole heart and allowed my faith to guide how I lived, parented, and served others. I want my child to know that everything I built was rooted in love, obedience, and the desire to create safety and opportunity for others.
I hope my story reflects courage in the face of uncertainty and grace through every season. More than titles or accomplishments, I want to be remembered for my heart, my compassion, and my willingness to say yes to God even when the path required sacrifice. If my life helps someone believe again, feel seen, or choose hope, then my legacy is complete.
