Story & Lesson Highlights with Michel’le Baynard of Houston – inner loop

We recently had the chance to connect with Michel’le Baynard and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Michel’le , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
What I’m being called to do now… something that may have felt intimidating before, is walk fully in my purpose. I’m here to create experiences and events that bring together like-minded and creative individuals from all walks of life. By collaborating with my dedicated team, I can engage the community, exchange ideas, offer and receive feedback, and grow through the process. All while building meaningful connections and creating impactful experiences.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Michel’le Baynard , the founder of Sparkles & Finesse, which started with balloon décor and has since grown into multiple creative ventures. I now run Taste of Finesse, a mobile mixology business, and my latest project, Soundz & Shotz, which I launched in collaboration with two talented creatives. Over the years, I’ve rebranded and evolved my businesses. I’m full of ideas and love creating unique experiences that leave a lasting impressions.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I think my earliest memory of feeling powerful was realizing how naturally I would take the lead. I was full of ideas and often offered to guide projects or help others make decisions. I also remember noticing how draining traditional jobs are and how unhappy I felt working for someone else. I realized I could run the shift or even a company better myself, and that’s when I knew I wanted to work for myself and build something of my own.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Believe in your ability to lead and make a difference; people will follow your energy.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
“Trends matter more than authenticity.”
Chasing trends can dilute your brand. Staying true to your vision and unique style creates lasting impact.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
I would regret not pursuing everything I’ve ever wanted to do. I refuse to regret never trying, so I will go after all of my goals while continuing to grow my businesses.
