We recently had the chance to connect with Tanny Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Tanny, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Amazing question because I get asked often am I this Happy all the time. I do my Best to find Joy in many things throughout the day. When my alarm goes off I give God thanks for allowing me to have another opportunity at this thing called Life. In preparation I jumpstart my am by playing Londrelle –Gratuitude song. The first few lyrics says,” I’ve got to be thankful because I know someone lost their lives today.” May sound straightforward but definitely is an uplifting song you all should check out…there’s Power in words! Once I’ve completed my tasks, I have a daily affirmation book that I read and intake the message for that date. Knowing the day ahead is going to be full of other people energies, I need as much Me-Time to get acclimated so I leave my phone on DND until im at work. It keeps me from feeling pressured into starting my day off with someone elses opinion just regulating what I have control over. How you do 1 thing is how you do everything is a true statement. Over time this regiment has kept me clear headed and at an optimal level to Conquer the Day!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My granny had 2 vehicles a 4 runner and a 89′ Jimmy “Blazer”. As a teen we are anxious to drive especially since I had got my license. I was playing basketball in high school so I practiced after school then caught the after school bus to a friend’s house that was walking distance to my job Taco Bell. After work I would catch the city bus Metro home. This was my routine at least 3-4 times during the school week. I dont know who asked who but my granny said I could buy her Jimmy for $500. Now at that time $500 wasn’t much but was when my bi-weekly check after taxes was like $215 smh. How did we survive back then. Anywho, within a few weeks I proudly gave her the money. She politely took the money and said now you need another $200 for insurance. Lmao what INSURANCE. Again I scrapped the money up to get those keys to my new ride. I shined that baby up by hand every few days. It help free up my money and time by simply having a vehicle to move around at my leisure but I proved I could obtain something if I strive for it. Keep your eye on the prize to it arrives!
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
L’s don’t mean Losing it equates Lessons! No one in my immediate family has property/land/assets so I will be a land-owner soon. I’ve always been a saver for unexpected moments but in recent times its been for potential opportunities. I’ve tried the local foreclosure auctions, took some lien holder classes etc but nothing stuck. A relative reached out wanting to sell his childhood home but actually the family house of the Williams. He said since we were family he would sell it at property value 52k and the process began. I had like 30k in cash and went to my bank for the rest. On the closing date of the property, im at work and he’s blowing my phone up. I call and he’s like Cuz I got an offer for more and can I give him til Monday to see what the potential buyer wants to do. Im thinking What he say, its a NO for me-go ahead and sell it I told him. I felt betrayed, I felt hurt, I felt stupid and unsure of my decision because I didnt want to stay in it but have a homestead for someone in need. I took a hit with my credit, I took a hit with the interest on the loan with my bank but that was a Hit I took by myself. I didnt have anyone I could share that experience with that could relate. I learned that some battles are fought alone. Im grateful that, that happened because I know the next go round will be for Me and God’s timing. It helped me dive deeper into the knowledge of property/home owning. So don’t give up-When the storm comes run towards it!
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Im a popular loner is what they would say. I dont like people but I love people if that make sense. Im eclectic in all genres of music, artisy in fashion and what makes people feel alive. Im not trendy, im more like Ralph Lauren- whatever the decade im still in season. Im the oldest child and grand child so it forced me to be the elder in alot of relationship/friendships in my life. I will not gatekeep information but wont over extent myself either to help one out. I constantly think of how my decisions will help everyone prosper. I didnt understand that being selfish was a part of healing. Running your cup over was a detriment to your well being. I continue to love on people but not with the same capacity I use to. It was hindering their growth as well as stunting my creativity. My love language is all of the above, when im in their Presence in Present!
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
Introductions at social gathering can be a drag. We associate people by their employment or degrees or martial status which can feel like a interview constantly checking off boxes. That temporary High one gives us when they formally say, ” this is Tanny who owns a party bus.” Don’t get me wrong im appreciative of the Preface but its more in this book, just read the Table of Content. I do have a struggle story but one of perservance. I love sharing the 41 years of thoughts and memories I had that shaped my being. Growing up in a underworld of survival, we bonded from our traumas and became family. Like 2Pac poem the rose that grew from concrete. I understand that people learn to adapt to their environments. Hungry for Knowledge, I was always observing and watching what people was and wasn’t saying. My talents have placed me amongst affluent people a average job wouldn’t allow me to thrive in. My independence and solitude gave me the confidence to shed old thoughts that no longer served my Higher good. Im a representative of open-mindedness, free thinking, a shape-shifter at will. I would like the world to know im the Woman who looks in the mirror that chooses to smile and say I love you with deep emotion. We have to be fulfilled in richness that money can’t buy. I do my Best to be the change in the world by my actions. Blessing others is what blesses me.
