Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Rekindle Candle Co. initially began as a creative outlet. Working remotely full time and going to school remotely part time during this pandemic this past year was very difficult. I needed something that was fun to do and provide a sense of relief from all the daily stressors that were occurring. Candle making did just that. I’ve always been obsessed with candles, because who doesn’t enjoy a great smelling home? I also just love the aesthetic and vibe that it brings to a room. Rekindle Candle Co. offers luxe, eco-friendly candles made with sustainable ingredients and non-toxic fragrances. My mission is to help create feel good moments in those times you need it the most. I’m an advocate for self-care, relaxation and creating a space of love and comfort. I launched in October 2020 and within such a short period of time of being in business, I have received so much love and support. My candles have been to shipped to places I haven’t traveled to yet. It has been a great learning experience.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not, there is a lot of testing and trials that goes on behind the scenes before the finished product is created. In addition, COVID-19 has definitely made it a challenging road along the way. Sourcing candle supplies such as wax, wicks, and mainly vessels have been difficult to attain either due to prolong shipping delays or limited availability of supplies.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m proud to be a coding specialist for the top cancer institute in the U.S. I’m responsible for translating diagnostic and procedural phrases utilized by healthcare providers into alpha-numeric codes. With this role you have to pay careful attention to detail, be able to adjust to changes at any given time, and perform to a certain standard of quality and production. I love what i do here and I’m pretty darn good at what I do.
