Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Vance.
Amy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my company, Eco Modern Concierge, in 2005 while I was in college. I was working in O&G and started my business on the side as a means to help pay for college, so I would not have to get loans. I built up my clientele and when I was in grad school was able to go full-time with my business.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the past 12 years of business, it has not been an entirely smooth road, but it has been a fun one! There are so many challenges you face along the way, from figuring out how to deal with internal workings of your business to economic downturns to gaining new clientele. With all of the struggles I have learned SO much and continue to learn every single day. I wouldn’t have growth in my business if it were not for the struggles I’ve been faced with along the way.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Eco Modern Concierge – what should we know?
Eco Modern Concierge is a Houston based small business and lifestyle Management Company that helps with day-to-day tasks that people don’t have time to do or just don’t want to do. We help others achieve a balance between work and life to alleviate overall stress through, professional organizing, personal assistant tasks and eco consulting. Some of the types of services we offer is errand running, personal shopping, home & office organization, home management, research, planning, eco consulting & action plans, and the list goes on and on, which you can find more details on our website. We work with various businesses and individuals all over Houston.
Eco Modern Concierge is known for efficiency, friendliness and helping people get stuff done! We strive to help others with their personal and professional needs in a sustainable, prompt and mindful way. We use eco practices whenever possible.
I am proud of SO many things as a company, big and small. I have various certifications and am a women owned business, but I think I am most proud of the relationships I have built with my clients through the years. I really do have some of the best clients and LOVE working with them.
I think what sets me apart from others is my experience, knowledge of the industry and Houston area, my drive and dedication to my clients, the relationships that I build with my clients and my passion for giving back.
