Meet Brittany Davis-Morris of Brilliant Brittany, BDM Creative Service, & Basicalle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Davis-Morris.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brittany. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I first started blogging in 2009 because my job was a bit uncreative. I love Fashion and had always dreamed of being an Accessories Editor for a Fashion Magazine. I started to blog at www.BrilliantBrittany.com and capture my outfits for work every day and soon after that I started to be invited to fashion shows in Boston and NYC and felt like this was something I wanted to do long term.

After many years of forming relationships with brands, bloggers, and editors, I decided to change my original career path from Software Engineer to Digital Marketing. I had always enjoyed working on my website and understanding the technology behind it. It was such a natural fit for me and I knew I was in the right place.

Relocating to Houston, TX from Boston, MA, I decided to start pursuing my new career. I worked at a local magazine being a Photographer Intern. It was so fun and taught me a lot about capturing the look and feel of products and moments. This really helped me with my blog and enhanced the look and feel of my blog.

Since my love for style and clothes has grown with showcasing my looks on my blog, I was grateful enough to start an online boutique called Basicalle, www.basicalle.com. At Basicalle Boutique, we offer relaxed fashion basics and minimally classic clothing that every woman needs in her closet.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road.

I went through a long struggle to find a job in Software Engineer when I got here. During that time, I knew my life was going in a different direction. I struggled a lot with my purpose and finding what is just right for me. I knew that I had gifts that needed to be cultivated and that It’s important that I wake up every day excited about what I did.

I was happy to get my certifications in Web Design and Web Development and start my Web Consulting Business, BDM Creative Services, www.bdmcreates.com.

My businesses true are a definition of who I am. My online boutique, Basicalle, is truly my love for style. I believe every woman should have the basics in their closets to fulfill their style capacity. It’s important how to style yourself with monochromatic colors to enhance your style for picking the right accessories.

BDM Creative Services allows me to showcase my trade skills while being creative in the process. I have clients who need that extra direction on how to gain more customers with their businesses.

My blog Brilliant Brittany is where I let it all out. I use my platform to share my style, beauty finds, and my motherhood happenings.

Each of my brands has led me to opportunities that I’m most proud of. I love what I do!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like Houston is a good place for all businesses here. There are so many different kinds of people here who need or want whatever you are offering. It’s important to get out and meet people! Go to events and introduce yourself!
