Meet Leslie Lerner of Leslie Lerner Properties

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Lerner.

Leslie has been a Houston real estate agent since the early 1990’s. She has sold homes, condominiums/lofts, lots and acreage from $40,000 into the millions. Through the years she has worked tirelessly with clients relocating to Houston and surrounding areas on the sale of their home, purchasing a new home and rentals. Many of the individuals/families she works with are repeat clients, which is a testament to her dedication and skill. Leslie’s tale of her entry into the real estate world reflects her continuing values.  In the 1990′s, while teaching elementary school, she bought her first house in Bellaire, Texas. The home’s listing agent was unfriendly, unmotivated and uncooperative.  Once the transaction was complete, she was so frustrated at the service she received, that she decided if the listing agent could sell real estate with a bad attitude, she could definitely sell with a GREAT attitude.

She immediately started taking her real estate classes and just a couple of months later, she was already on track to having a very successful first year in real estate. Her dedication is also reflected in her community service, as a long-time leader in Bellaire High School alumni efforts, a member of The Houstonian Club’s Member Advisory Board, a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Barbecue Committee and other non-profits throughout the community.

Has it been a smooth road?
Taking the risk to start a new, innovative real estate adventure has been the best thing I have ever done. The hardest part was educating buyers and sellers that they have options where commission rates are concerned. Many people do not know what flat fee listings or rebated commissions are. Leslie Lerner Properties is The Home of Flat Fee Listings and Rebated Commissions. We are not a traditional real estate agency, where commissions are concerned. Leslie Lerner Properties is very modern in our thinking. We know that technology has changed the way people buy and sell homes and understand the consumer wants to keep as much money in his/her wallet as possible. With that in mind, we came up with a unique, money-saving commission structure. We offer flat fee real estate listings when selling a home and rebated commissions when buying a house.

Buying a Home:Leslie Lerner Properties understands that technology has provided us with greater opportunities to shop for real estate listings online. With this in mind, Leslie Lerner Properties created a tiered commission schedule that saves buyers money.

Clients participating in the Leslie Lerner commission rebate program are provided the same first-class, friendly service as someone not receiving a rebate.

Whether listing or buying, Leslie Lerner Properties holds their client’s hand throughout the whole process. Leslie Lerner Properties is a full-service real estate brokerage. The only difference is the commission rate.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Technology will continue to change our industry. Buyers and sellers will continue to be more empowered by shopping online, which could cause more demand for brokerages to reduce commissions.


  • Leslie Lerner Properties will list homes: $300,000 – $799,999 for a flat fee of $4,500; $800,000 – $1,499,999 for $12,000; $1,500,000 – $1,999,999 for $25,000; above $2,000,000 for $30,000.*
  • If we accompany you to 1 to 3 homes during the time we represent you and you fall in love with one of them, we will rebate 1.5% of the total Buyer’s Agent commission back to you on the final settlement statement at closing.
  • Sometimes it takes a little bit more time to find something you can’t live without, so if we don’t find the diamond in the rough within the first three showings, but we succeed by the sixth showing, we will rebate 1% of the total Buyer’s Agent commission back to you on the final settlement statement at closing.
