Today we’d like to introduce you to Loretta Caddigan.
Loretta, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After graduating college and traveling for several months, I moved back to Houston wanting to blend my Nutrition background with yoga and I started to work at a local yoga studio and over time that led my yoga studies to prenatal yoga. I’ve been integrating nutrition and yoga as a holistic approach to help anyone trying to live a healthier lifestyle.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The most challenging time of my life was losing my Mom to colon cancer in 2017 and really applying all of the tools I’ve learned through my own yoga practice.
Yoga with Loretta – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a full-time yoga instructor and although I teach at a few local studios in town, I also have a private practice in consulting/educating Nutrition and private yoga sessions. I specialize in Prenatal Yoga and will soon be offering Doula Services as well. I’m grateful to have offered bilingual services to so many people in need of resources that will help them in anyway. Coming from a Peruvian background myself, I understand how challenging it can be to inquire knowledge and guidance in Spanish that takes into consideration the importance of culture through food and that’s with every culture right. Food is a main ingredient in what makes up a culture.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
So far, my proudest moment has been all of the opportunities I’ve received to truly help someone, whether it be in nutrition, yoga, or as a Labor Doula.
