Today we’d like to introduce you to Nack Lima.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My love for music started at the early age of 10. Although I was not fortunate to play at such a young age, I was always determined to listen to different styles of music on the radio. My career as a DJ actually began in 2011 at a friend’s house in Brooklyn. At first, I thought being a DJ was a piece of cake with just a touch of a button but later realized that being a DJ is more than just pushing buttons, as most people would think looking from the outside…
With passion running through my veins and an eagerness to learn the art-form of DJing, I enrolled in the DJ Certification Program at the world-renowned Scratch DJ Academy in New York City. There I learned the fundamentals of being a DJ, the business side of the art-form, and what it takes to really succeed in this industry. After completing the certification program at Scratch, I knew that I had built a strong foundation to be successful in the industry and knew it was time to get out there and pursue my career.
I started making a name for myself by performing opening sets at venues such as The Underwater Lounge and The Social Butterfly in Brooklyn, NY. This eventually led to a weekly residency at The Social Butterfly on Friday nights hosting “Ladies Night” for the entertainment company The Ballers Crew. I moved to Texas in August of 2014 where I just knew I can restart my career in this huge state. At first, it was not easy, but as years went by, I networked with other talented DJs that took me under their wings.
DJ Norro is one of the DJs that I owe my success in this state and most importantly getting me a slot on an online radio show called Federation formerly known as HCFradio.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing you do is ever a smooth road. My experience at first was difficult because I thought being a DJ was simple, you get a laptop, load music and press a button and the music plays.
In fact, it’s not that simple. I attended Scratch academy first to obtain the basic knowledge of the craft such as, mixing, beat matching and scratching. Secondly getting out to allow others to book you for their events was also challenging. It’s extremely hard to get someone to trust you to provide entertainment for their event if they don’t know you.
I was able to overcome that by doing opening sets for big events, doing parties for free so people can actually hear me play and also doing random mixtapes for people to listen to. By doing that I was able to promote my brand and also create an electronic press kit which is similar to a resume.

Deejay Nack is a brand that provides music entertainment on a private and corporate level. Nothing is ever too small or large that I will not do. I play all genres of music and specialize in kompa music. What sets me apart from other DJ in this state is that I have a secondary company named Endless Alliance Team (EAT).
This company provides all types of services such as bartenders, uplighting, provide sound and equipment and other DJs. I call this a one-stop shop location for all your needs for entertainment.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The qualities that I feel that are most important to my success is being punctual for every event. Also, I cater to the customer for their event to ensure that they are satisfied with the service I provide them.
