Today we’d like to introduce you to Sky Adkins.
Sky, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am Sky the CEO/Founder of Sky Modeling School & Elegance on the Runway Fashion Show birth 2019. I am a Native of Lafayette La. I have been modeling for over five years. My career started with an organization called THE BEAT fashion show it was in honor of Cancer Survivors. I was selected as one of the models. Following the show, some modeling scouts contacted me and began my career from there.
My biggest supporter has always been my mother and my grandmother now my grandmother has passed on my mother stands alone with God on her side. My mother (Ms. Cole); she attended my first show and it was a great success. I wanted more training from there, my mother went with me to John Casablanca Modeling Center. I attended there for two years and then branched out on my own. I learned a lot of awesome things while attending there that helped me on my journey. Growing up being the only child spoiled always wanted a lot of attention. Every time a camera was around, I was posing and smiling. Through my school years, I attended all the fashion shows dancing and singing. I was a cheerleader in middle school love to be in front of people, so I am not surprised of where my life has taken me today.
I enjoy dancing still, I am an inspirational dancer, motivational speaker, grew up in the church with my parents being in ministry. I was labeled a PK Kid. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends doing different festivities. I am a member of the CLW Forty Plus Models Inc. an organization that gives scholarships to senior graduates. I have taught modeling class and help prepare for annual fashion show for the Smart Scholars foundations early childhood education. I am a mother of two my youngest is 18 Timothy Clark and my oldest is 23 Xaviera Clark. I am married to Lebray who is a photographer of Lebray Photography and Filmworks. I have a degree in Accounting Finance, I am an Accounting Controller for an Oil & Gas company.

Very important in my life. I believe what God has for me it is for ME. I don’t Chase my Dreams; I let my Dreams Chase ME. My Motto is For with God, nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37
Has it been a smooth road?
No, nothing is a smooth ride in life. It takes hard work prayer, push and motivation. When I first started modeling, it was hard when some casting calls turn me away and even made me feel I would never be able to model. I left a few casting crying but I wipe my tears and prayed to God. I said God, this is what I want help me through it. I spent so much of my life focusing on others and not fulfilling my destination. I wanted to feel good about myself sometimes we go through things in life bad situations, relationships, jobs, etc. that make you feel worthless. Modeling walking the runway makes me feel free, not a care in the world. I feel confident that a woman like me with hidden scars and bruises can be so beautiful and elegant on the outside.
Please tell us about Sky Modeling School.
My business is a modeling school Sky Modeling School founded 2019. We provide models with education and mentoring for success in the modeling industry. We strive for every model that comes through our school to walk the runway with confidence and ability to land any casting opportunity.
We are on the move SMS has a lot of things we were working on to enhance the modeling industry. We believe everyone has what it takes to become a successful model with the proper training.
SMS has an annual fashion show ELEGANCE ON THE RUNWAY a sold-out fashion show held at the Omni Hotel Westside. Models and Designers from all over come to show their skills on the runway. The show is in the month of February the show gives a percentage to the American Heart Association.
I’m VERY proud of where the school is going and what we have done in the modeling industry to help others. This is just the beginning. What sets us apart we are a school not an agency that trains and give out certificates with graduation ceremony upon completion for models to add to their model resumes.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I feel it is a lot of aspiring models in the Houston area needing training. You have to target the ones serious about their modeling career. You can branch out from Houston to any city and be successful.
