Meet Tasha Adams of Sadity Slayed in North Shore Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Adams.

Tasha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started when I was in ten years old. My aunt was a hairdresser while all the other kids were outside playing I would stay inside watching her style hair and I would ask her so many questions in the process. I start practicing on dolls then eventually friends and family there was no question about it I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist. All through high school, I would do my local peers hair even people older than me I really enjoyed the fact of doing something I loved and making money while doing it. In 2013, I remember going to three interviews in one week and being told they’ve found someone better, so basically getting turned down after feeling disappointed and at my lowest, I decided to step out on faith and use the gift that I was blessed with and believe in my talent. I was scared, doubtful, and nervous. I enrolled in braiding and weaving course in HCC the course was only 6 months I completed my course and immediately start working in a shop that had the right exposure (my very first shop family) they encouraged me and promoted my craft 100%. I remember crying tears of joy because I at that moment realized I was doing what I always wanted to do. Now, I’m focusing on building my own brand through my craft and although it hasn’t been easy it’s definitely worth it.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it hasn’t been easy. Some weeks are good some aren’t. You have to know how to save, you sometimes run into people who are simply not for you or your brand which you won’t understand at first but eventually you’ll understand.
