Meet Trailblazer Latasha Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latasha Green.

Latasha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My first introduction into the beauty industry was when I was still in highschool at the age of 15 doing hair in my home after school. I had four clients everyday after school and at least 5-6 on the weekends. That’s where I got my start even before going to beauty school which I did in my senior year and I received my cosmetology license at the age of 19. I moved to Los Angeles at 21 and trained with celebrity stylists and learned how things were done in the entertainment industry and took my knowledge back home and grew my business. I took countless classes and training seminars to learn all things beauty, makeup, extensions, cutting, coloring and wig making. I went on to open a salon in Kansas at the age of 27. Change was needed and I moved to Austin, Texas and here is where Fiber Salon and Fiber hair solutions was birthed.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life will always bring challenges and obstacles. For me, the key is to find the solution and not dwell in the negative for too long. When I first moved to Austin life was great, I was a stay at home mom to a then six weeks old, a Wife, and an entrepreneur trying to figure out what was next. I started a couple of businesses that ultimately failed, I got Divorced and I started a new life as a single women. Now my focus is always a Mom first to an almost six years old, all while building a brand that I’m passionate about and building a home this year as well… There have Been many, many challenges along the way. My advice is to stay positive. I know that’s hard to do as times, but think of the positive and lean on that. Cry if you need to then wipe your tears and form a strategy. When first starting your journey always have a Plan, Research, have a plan B, Save, Save, Save, Protect your credit, ask questions from anyone who is where you desire to be, don’t be afraid of rejection just ask and then execute!!
