Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Sebastien.
Chad, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up, I always felt different and had very low self-esteem, even though I came off as confidently. I move to the United States of America at the age of 13 while trying to find my way I found myself with a lack of support from people that were close to me. Event Planning/Fashion was never an interest of mine. I used Event Planning/Fashion as a mask so that others wouldn’t know when I was unhappy or struggling. I wanted to do better with the motivation of my past, but, most importantly, see others overcome their unfortunate or build their self-esteem.
Things began being to look bright for me the beginning of the year 2011. I was blessed to be apart and hold leadership positions. A job that allowed me to express my talent for event planning and coaching modeling. I had no idea that I was great at and did not know why people wanted me to coach or event assist with planning their event.
I founded Sebastien Productions in 2013 and have since gained many valuable connections with industry-leading experts and vendors. I’ll work day and night to guarantee that your next event will be with unforgettable moments. I gained experience as a Social Event Coordinator through my participation in various higher education event planning, student government, and campus activities. Successful events include “Dress for Success, HIV Awareness Week, Etiquette and Manners Camp” and Black History Months Program. I assisted with coordinating and coaching the production of the NAACP Fashion Shows through the University of Houston, and Juneteenth in McNair. Attention to detail, project-oriented, customer service, and exceptional coordinating skills, has enabled Chad Sebastien to create and execute events to remember.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been an easy road—the biggest challenge for me is support. People would say they would support, but when it was time to pay then it would have been, I thought we were friends. I was not having a mentor. I had to do trial and error but yet be different. I have always been a go-getter and bounce back from my fall.
Please tell us about the business.
My business is coaching/managing, Consultations, event planning, and workshops/camps. I am ” The Man Behind the Models,” My passion for the fashion and model industry allows me to transform the ‘can’t’ to the ‘can.’ I take pride in what I do because it is a platform for others to show their beauty and graces; everything that makes you who you are is beautiful. Fashion allows for the expression and becoming of who you are and who you want to be. What I do goes beyond coaching—models on how to walk on a runway or pose for a picture. My teaching transforms people that may deal with self-esteem or self-doubt to encourage, to love, and to allow themselves to overcome those mental weights that hold them back. My focus is on mental health, self-care, and the importance of self-care, enabling me to give out resources if needed.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The greatest lesson I learned was my mistakes. With my mistakes, I am who I am today. If I had to choose, I would say finding a mentor.
