An Inspired Chat with Anja Drewes Neidhardt of Richmond TX

We recently had the chance to connect with Anja Drewes Neidhardt and have shared our conversation below.

Anja, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I grew up in Germany with a horse of my own and riding was a big part of my life. But when I moved to Texas 28 years ago, life got busy and I never rode again—until recently. Getting back in the saddle has felt like reconnecting with a piece of myself that I’d missed, and it’s been pure joy. There’s something so grounding about being around horses; it gives me balance outside of my real estate world.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Anja Drewes Neidhardt, and I’m the owner and broker of Anja Drewes Properties, a boutique real estate company based in Richmond, Texas. I’ve been in real estate for over 17 years and have had the privilege of helping more than 800 families buy and sell homes across Houston, Sugar Land, Richmond, and Katy.

What makes my brand unique is that I combine old-world values—professionalism, punctuality, and integrity, shaped by my German upbringing—with modern, creative marketing strategies like video, social media, and international networking. Being fluent in German and English also allows me to support many international clients who relocate to Texas.

At the heart of my business is a very personal approach: clients receive not just my expertise, but true one-on-one care, guidance, and advocacy throughout the process. To me, real estate is never just about transactions — it’s about life transitions, community, and trust. My mission is to help buyers, sellers, and investors make smart decisions, while making sure they feel fully supported every step of the way. That’s why my clients return to me again and again for their real estate needs..

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was simply someone who loved connecting, creating, and taking care of others. Growing up in Germany, I learned responsibility, discipline, and patience. Those same values—integrity, hard work, and dedication—are what I’ve carried into my career as a real estate broker. Even before I knew I’d build a business, I was naturally drawn to guiding people and creating experiences that felt special and personal. Today, that’s the foundation of Anja Drewes Properties: a boutique firm built on trust, genuine relationships, and the belief that buying or selling a home is about so much more than a transaction—it’s about people and their life stories.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self: trust the journey and believe in your own strength. Even when life feels uncertain, every challenge is shaping you into the person you’re meant to become. Be patient with yourself—you don’t have to have it all figured out right away. Keep your integrity, stay kind and humble, and know that the setbacks will one day become the very experiences that give you wisdom and compassion and let you grow.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes — the public version of me is the real me. I’m genuine, hardworking, and very direct, but also deeply caring. The way I show up for my clients is the same way I show up and treat my family and friends — with honesty, commitment, and care

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
My clients would miss the personal care and direct attention I give them. I don’t pass clients off — I walk with them through every step, combining market expertise with genuine support. They’d miss knowing they always had someone in their corner who treated their goals as if they were my own. But my clients would also know that even if I were retired, they could still call me anytime for advice.
