Good morning Paige , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
After Covid , faces changed, and so did the world. I began doing hair; which I’ve always been good at, but never took seriously. As of June, I have been enrolled in Cosmetology school and I love It . A woman’s hair is her crown, and the first thing you see when approached. I was afraid of taken this talent further until I realized how blessed my hands truly were. Now I specialize in Human Hair locs & Human Hair Loc Wigs
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello Houston ! I’m Paige J and I am the CEO/Owner of “As Told By Paige J” and “Passion Locs by Paige J” . I am a multifaceted Multimedia Personality and Stylist, that specializes in Sexology. Wearing so many faces can feel like playing dress up most days, but I wear it gracefully as a badge of honor. Society lately has also made me a “content creator”, which I’ve also enjoyed. Recently I made my TV debut featuring two appearances on ‘Isiah Factor: Uncensored. Next up for “As Told By Paige J” is a special series on YouTube called “ Pillow Talk w/ Paige J” as we tackle the female approach to pleasure through conversation and data. I look forward to communicated with other sexually liberated women while they tell their stories of pleasure. Passion Locs by Paige J has been doing amazing and looks forward to crowning each lady, head by head.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My father saw me clearly before I could see myself. Unfortunately it took me until his passing in April 2025 to see that he really saw me and for me step into HER. I come from two entrepreneurs as parents, and my father would always tell me I wasn’t a “worker” I was born to be a boss. For a long time I disagreed and thought being a worker was an easier way, and it was, til it wasn’t. I’m extremely blessed that he spoke those words into me and I didn’t ignore them !
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me just how resilient I really was. I graduated from Prairie View A&M University 9 years ago; and I keep going because I know most crafts debut year 10. Year one I thought I would blow, and I didn’t; and I carried these thoughts til about year 6. Then I realized that even though I hadn’t hit it big, I was 6 years further than I was before. Instant success wouldn’t have humbled me, it would have taught me much, and for that I now appreciate the suffering !
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes ! The public version of me is the REAL me! I’ve been this girl since 4 years old okay ! I’m loud, I take up space, I speak my mind, I’m liberated, stylish, and even though I’m beautiful, my conversation has always been the main character of it all. I’m country! I’m friendly and I love meeting like minded individuals! I truly live the life you’re on the outside looking into.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I had 10 years left to live, I would immediately stop holding space for those that don’t make me feel loved, safe, or important. Now I’ve made a lot of adjustments over time, but life is short, don’t shorten it with small people
