We recently had the chance to connect with Regan Adams and have shared our conversation below.
Regan, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think many people are secretly struggling with feeling stuck in a life they never truly wanted. They wake up every day and go through the motions, clocking into jobs that drain them instead of fill them. They are doing what they feel they have to do instead of what they are truly called to do. Deep down they crave joy, freedom, and purpose but they silence that voice because fear and comfort feel safer.
A lot of people think they cannot move until they have all the money, the resources, or the perfect setup. But the truth is you do not need to have it all figured out. You just need to start. The smallest step forward builds momentum. Walking in your calling does not begin with a lump sum in the bank. It begins with the decision to move. Too many people let the illusion of lack keep them from experiencing abundance.
And here’s the part that stings for some: if you never start, you will always stay in the cycle of survival instead of stepping into the life you were designed to thrive in. Most people are not lazy, they are just afraid. Afraid of failing, afraid of judgment, afraid of risk. But if they could see that the real risk is staying in a life that does not belong to them, they would start moving immediately.
The joy comes when you stop waiting for perfect and start walking with faith.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Regan Adams, and I am the founder of Patches and Perspectives. My journey began in October of 2024 when I lost my job. Instead of letting that season defeat me, I took my very last check and invested it into a dream. That decision became the foundation of my business.
Patches and Perspectives is all about creativity and connection. We host mobile patch parties where people design custom trucker hats that reflect who they are. Every patch is more than just a design. It is a statement. It is a way to build your personality piece by piece until your hat tells your story.
What makes this brand special is that it is not only about fashion. It is about expression and conversation. When people come together to create, they open up. They share laughs, stories, and perspectives that last beyond the party. Each hat becomes a reminder of both individuality and community.
Right now I am focused on expanding our mobile parties and creating new collections that inspire people to be bold and unapologetic in how they show up in life. With Patches and Perspectives, we are designing more than hats. We are designing confidence and conversations.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I made the decision to end a fourteen year marriage. Not long after, my ex-husband passed away. That moment could have broken me completely, but instead it became the turning point of my life. I sold my houses, packed up everything, and moved fourteen hours away to Houston, Texas with my daughter to start fresh, without really knowing anyone.
On top of that, I walked away from a job I had been at for sixteen years. I had no real plan, only a deep knowing that there was a better life waiting for me. That choice to leave behind comfort, routine, and familiarity in order to step into the unknown was when I truly discovered my power. It was not about having everything figured out. It was about trusting myself enough to create a new life from scratch.
Now, I have just celebrated three years here in Houston, and we are still growing. That reminds me every day that power is not found in playing it safe, it is found in daring to believe that something greater is always possible.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me things that success never could. It showed me exactly who I am and what I am made of. When everything was stripped away, I learned my strength, my resilience, and my ability to stand even when life tried to break me.
It also taught me to be deeply appreciative of what I have. I no longer take things for granted, because I have seen firsthand that not everyone has the same opportunities, resources, or support systems. Suffering humbled me. It reminded me not to complain but instead to see every challenge as a lesson.
One of the greatest revelations was that I do not need everything I once thought I needed in order to be successful, or even just to live daily. The truth is, most of what we think is necessary is actually just comfort or distraction. Suffering stripped me down to the essentials, and in that space I learned how little it truly takes to create a meaningful life.
Success is beautiful, but suffering built my character. It reminded me that gratitude, simplicity, and faith will carry me further than money, titles, or appearances ever could.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me in this season is staying true to the path God has me on, even though it looks very different from the life I was used to. For the first time, I am not working a traditional nine to five job, and that has been a huge mental shift because I have worked my whole life.
Instead of seeing it as a setback, my friends constantly remind me that I am right where I need to be. They encourage me, they tell me I am doing great, and they remind me that greatness is already within me. They hype up my products, they celebrate my creativity and my business acumen, and they make me feel like I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.
What makes it even more special is that they do not just support me in business, they cover me spiritually. They pray for me, they speak life into me, and they help me remember that my worth is not tied to a job title or a paycheck. It is tied to my purpose and the impact I am creating.
Having that kind of love, support, and accountability has shown me that what truly matters is community, faith, and the courage to keep going even when the road looks unfamiliar.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had ten years left, the very first thing I would stop doing is doubting myself. I would stop questioning my abilities and second-guessing who I am and what I carry. My impact on people is undeniable. Every time I open my mouth, I speak life. I help shift the way people see themselves. I change the trajectory of those I come into contact with. That is a gift, and it is not something I should ever minimize.
But if I am being real, I often leave myself out of that same encouragement I give to others. I pour into people until their cup overflows, but I sometimes forget to pour back into me. On top of that, there are moments where I shrink back because of nerves, or because I feel like I am not supposed to be in the room. That is nothing more than imposter syndrome trying to silence me.
If I only had ten years left, I would silence that voice completely. I would walk boldly into every space God places me in. I would own my calling without hesitation. I would treat every single day as an opportunity to pour into myself just as much as I pour into others. Because the truth is, I was never meant to play small.
