An Inspired Chat with Tyjahne Taylor

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tyjahne Taylor. Check out our conversation below.

Tyjahne, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is a mix of creating, connecting, and growth. I usually start early with movement to set my energy for the day. I spend time working on Asanté Cosmetics, developing new lip gloss shades and lip scrubs, planning content, and engaging with my community. Between work and teaching moments, I make time for reflection, self-care, and inspiration, ending each day feeling fulfilled and grateful for the journey I’m on.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Tyjahné Taylor, founder of Asanté Cosmetics, a beauty brand that creates 100% plant-based lip glosses designed to nourish your lips and uplift your spirit. Each product comes with a custom affirmation to recite in the mirror to inspire you to be authentic, be beautiful, be you, and empower you to embrace your confidence and live in your truth. My mission is to help women feel seen, heard, and felt while embracing clean, mindful beauty. I also host Mirror Magic classes, where I guide women to connect with themselves, embrace their authenticity, and cultivate confidence. I’m passionate about creativity, beauty, and personal growth, and I’m expanding Asanté with new lip gloss shades and luxurious lip scrubs to give every woman a complete self-care experience.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I would have to say that I was everything and everyone to the world, giving pieces of myself to everyone else, until I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I began to transform my mind, body, and spirit, learning to honor my own truth and embrace who I really am. Through this journey, I found the power to reclaim my authenticity, set boundaries, and cultivate a life that reflects my deepest values and desires.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life have been the times I felt unseen, unheard, or like I had to be everything to everyone at the expense of myself. For years, I gave my energy and love outward, neglecting my own needs and authenticity. Healing came when I committed to a journey of self-discovery, transforming my mind, body, and spirit. I learned to honor my own truth, set boundaries, and cultivate self-love. Practices like mindfulness, affirmations, creative expression, and nurturing my spiritual connection have helped me reclaim my power and embrace my authentic self.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Asanté Cosmetics is my greatest project. It’s more than a beauty brand.
I believe that true beauty radiates from within when we learn to embrace who we truly are at our core. Through my work with Asanté, I aim to help women connect with themselves, cultivate confidence, and celebrate their unique beauty every day. I’m committed to growing it, expanding our offerings, and creating experiences that inspire authenticity and self-love, no matter how long it takes.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?

For years, I spent time chasing careers that didn’t align with who I truly am, trying to fit into roles and expectations that weren’t meant for me. It wasn’t until I followed my own path creating Asanté Cosmetics, sharing affirmations, and empowering women that I began to feel fully alive and aligned with my purpose. The fulfillment and joy I get from this work remind me every day that I am doing what I was born to do
