Hi Angelo, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Working on music is the easiest way for me to lose track of time. I can say, “I just wanna check something”, and two or three hours seem to pass just like that.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Angelo Martin and I am the co-founder of Blak Whole Muzik Group. We specialize in all things music production.
I think the uniqueness of the company comes in the form of the music we design. We have had the privilege of working with the “Great” Spike Lee and the new album entitled “Imperfect Human” by Angelo Michael Martin drops in 2025.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Playing my first piano recital at the age of 6. I was super nervous, but after I made my way thru the composition and heard the applause, I felt a true since of appreciation and accomplishment. It is a feeling I will never forget.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that success doesn’t give a damn about your suffering. Suffering for something u want is almost necessary but it doesn’t have to always be a bad thing. We are made to be great under pressure. I believe it brings out the best of our soulful natures.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that getting the music right matters to me right beneath my faith in God and love for my family.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they say that I took some knocks but never got knocked out and never gave up on myself or my passion for life and music.
