Ariel Hunt of Houston on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Ariel Hunt shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Ariel, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
It several things lol it’s whether I’m designing candles for my mobile candle making business, planning content to inspire women on their fitness journeys, or lifting heavy in the gym with my favorite playlist blasting, I completely lose track of time. Music has a way of grounding me while fueling my creativity and drive. It’s in those moments of building, sweating, vibing to my music, and pouring into something meaningful that I feel most like myself. That’s when I’m reminded that I was made to create, empower, and grow not just for me, but to show others what’s possible when you align with your purpose.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Ariel, founder of Flourishing Candle Company, a mobile candle-making experience that brings creativity, relaxation, and community right to your doorstep. What started as a small passion project has grown into a full-blown experience serving corporate teams, private events, and creative workshops. One of my proudest moments was leading a candle-making team-building session for over 150 employees at HP in Cypress, Texas.

I’m also on a personal fitness journey that has completely transformed my body and I share that journey on Instagram @Artonari to encourage women, especially those over 35, that it’s never too late to start.

Next, with Flourishing Candle Company, I’m expanding our mobile workshops to reach more communities and corporate clients, creating even more opportunities for connection and creativity. On the fitness side, I’m focused on growing my clothing line and continuing to inspire others by sharing honest, real-life experiences of balancing entrepreneurship, wellness, and motherhood.

Everything I do, whether it’s entrepreneurship, wellness, or creative expression, is grounded in purpose, faith, and the belief that we all have the power to build a life we love, one intentional step at a time.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One moment that really shaped how I see the world was when my mother, who was also my best friend, passed away nearly four years ago. Losing her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, but it became a profound turning point in my life. Since then, I’ve been on a journey of healing for myself and with God’s guidance.

That process has taught me so much about faith, peace, softness, resilience, and the importance of grace. It’s changed how I approach my life and work, reminding me that even through the toughest challenges, there is always room to grow, to heal.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You can breathe. Stop worrying so much. Take time to listen especially to your mom and really understand when she shares her wisdom about life, God, peace, faith, and happiness and have fun! Stay happy, stay soft, and trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it should.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m committed to no matter how long it takes is protecting and preserving my peace. No matter what season I’m in or how busy life gets, my peace is something I refuse to compromise. It’s sacred, and I’ve learned that everything flows better when I’m centered, calm, and connected to God.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m sitting outside with music playing, a cup of coffee or matcha in hand, and I’m talking to God. Whether I’m praying, journaling, or just soaking in the stillness, those moments bring me back to center. I also feel deep peace when I’m watching my daughter perform and seeing her walk in something she enjoys. My heart in a way that words can’t fully explain. In those moments, I feel God’s presence, His promises, and His peace all around me.
