Today we’d like to introduce you to Cara Moves.
Cara, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I am a creative, born and raised in Houston. I have a connection to fashion and arts, having studied fashion abroad, my creative heart grew towards finding myself through street artistry. From Houston, I moved to New York then Los Angeles. I have embraced the starving artist life fully, finding myself the happiest when I do. I hope my art moves people (hence the name, Cara Moves).
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am not locked into a certain style of art or expression, I simply create what I feel, what I want others to feel. I create to move, to enlighten, to brighten, to support, to encourage and to spark something in people that I have found in myself. It takes a while to fully understand who you are or for the better cliche phrase ‘find yourself’, some people never do. For that reason alone, I create for myself, for others, for you. I’m inspired by fashion and life and am currarting that into my next creations. Currently, I am transitioning into a new style of my art and plan to launch it and open a showroom here in Houston early 2019.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Reach out, collaborate, support and follow other artists through Instagram.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Instagram @caramoves and caramoves.com, I plan to open a showroom in 2019 here in Houston.
