Today we’d like to introduce you to Dalia Moghazy.

Dalia Moghazy

Hi Dalia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have always loved painting and art. Colors and textures fascinated me, and I discovered that expressing myself through art was fun and fulfilling. The pandemic was very challenging, both personally and professionally. As a physician, I was on the front lines, witnessing the struggles and uncertainties faced by so many. During all the chaos, I felt an overwhelming need for a creative outlet. Eventually, I expanded my horizons and started experimenting with interior design and remodeling, which added a whole new dimension to my creative journey.

After completing a successful renovation in my own home, I realized how much I enjoyed the process of transforming a space into something beautiful and useful. This experience gave me the confidence to take a step further and enroll in interior design school. It was a decision fueled by my need for creativity and a desire to channel my energy into something that brought happiness not only to me but also to those who would eventually live in these redesigned spaces.

I view each project as a fresh canvas, where I can blend colors, textures, and elements to create a harmonious and visually appealing composition. My experience in painting has refined my ability to see the subtleties in shades, the interplay of light, and the way different materials interact. This allows me to bring a unique and personalized touch to each design, ensuring that every space I work on is not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional and comfortable.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I work on my design projects during my free time in the evening and on weekends, which takes lots of planning and prioritization, but it is always fun! Balancing my career, family, and projects is certainly challenging, but I’ve learned to only focus on one project at a time. Another challenge is learning how to run a business. I’ve had to learn about accounting, contracts, branding, and networking. It’s been a humbling journey, but the drive to succeed in this new endeavor keeps me motivated to learn and grow.

I want people to know that it’s never too late to explore your passions and embark on new journeys. The pandemic taught us the importance of resilience and embracing change. Pursuing your creative calling, even during challenging times, can lead to unimaginable fulfillment. I hope my story inspires others to seek out their own passions and that every experience from the past can enrich new pursuits in unexpected ways.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I offer a full range of design services, but my work mostly focuses on custom kitchens, bath remodels, and new construction. During the consultation process, I am able to get to know the client in order to make the space functional for their everyday needs. During that meeting, we will figure out the client’s style, timeline, and budget. My goal is to make each space feel beautiful, balanced, and timeless. With the full-service design option, we can manage the project from the initial concept all the way through to completion. If clients have their own contractors, we also offer design-only services. Choosing to remodel with an interior designer can significantly alleviate the stress and costs associated with the remodeling process. While remodeling can be overwhelming due to the multitude of decisions that need to be made, an interior designer brings a wealth of expertise and benefits that can make the experience smoother and more enjoyable. The greatest reward at the end of a project is to see my happy clients.
