Check Out Gia Henderson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gia Henderson.

Gia Henderson

Hi Gia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story begins long before I became a business owner. As a teenager, I’ve always had a camera with me to document my high school years. Life happened, and Katrina happened, so that is where it’s stopped until I get settled in Dallas. I had a little point-and-shoot camera by then, lol, but it did what I needed it to do for me and my babies. Fast forward to 2013, when I was in college for Social Work, making straight A’s, I realized that my heart was longing to photograph more. I asked around schools to see if they offered Photography courses, but they didn’t, so I set out to learn what I could learn on my own until I came across an amazing group of photographers who teach, so I began learning from them. Graphic Design became second nature.

My herbalism journey started in 2019 after my hysterectomy; it was then that I could’ve healed my womb naturally.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning it was a learning curve and a visual challenge as well. But with the determination to learn and grow those things fell behind the bigger goal. Today’s struggles are competing with phone cameras and being seen by the target audience, those parents who love updating their kid’s photos every year, those families who love updating their photo to display in their home, the person who loves capturing their moments for themselves and not just social media.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I photograph a little of everything, but I would love to specialize in Boudoir as a healing yet empowering experience. I would like to be known as the woman who, despite what she had going on she pushed through and made her clients feel like family. The thing I’m most proud of is I never gave up, no matter how much I wanted to! The thing that sets me apart from others is knowing there is only one me, only one G.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 crisis?
This was the time I learned how extremely import it is to take and make memories with your loved ones because they can be here this morning and gone by the evening.
