Check Out Jake Bush’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Bush.

Hi Jake, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up listening to all kinds of music but I always found my way back to country. Andy Griggs, Keith Whitley, Chris Cagle, Toby Keith. All 90’s! I taught myself the guitar when I was 14 and then slowly started singing through high school and performed a duet in the Talent show my senior year (2012). I joined the US Army Reserves and sang cadence & in my barracks with a borrowed guitar.

I began music full-time at 21 and have been a self-employed musician for six years. I’ve always had some kind of premonition to play music and song write since I was a little kid holding a microphone singing a TV jingle to constantly writing poems for girls through the years of elementary. I’ve had 2 top 30 singles and two back to back #1’s on Texas Radio.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d say 2015-2018 were very trying times for me. I went through breakups, bad decisions, and the losses of a ton of friends and family. I almost lost myself in the process of trying to maintain the musician lifestyle. I lost my best friend in 2017 when he left my show and wrecked his motorcycle. That still effects me to this day. Losing my grandmother in 2017, months before my friend’s above. I almost quit music and just gave up all the dreams.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I try to entertain the crowd and make sure they’re having a good time. I take the most pride in loving my fans, remembering their names, etc. I’m not trying to be anything other than Jake Bush. I’m a smorgus board of all of my influences.
