Chris Dieter of Angleton on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Chris Dieter and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
A quick delivery of the days supplies to the staff and a general review of the days schedule. Then a quick walk to see the crocs before settling into office work

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Chris Dieter and I am the owner of Crocodile Encounter which is the largest crocodile facility in the country. We keep and breed a variety of species as part of our education and conservation work.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I remember when I was teaching a fellow teacher told me I’d never retire as a teacher and I was a bit befuddled as I liked teaching. She ended up being correct

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Dont stress on such small insignificant things

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
We have several really long projects with a variety of species. Croc and turtle projects can easily span a decade or more.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, its never been about getting praise as nice as it may be. I just like living and experiencing the animals
