Today we’d like to introduce you to Ericka Medinger.
Hi Ericka, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
At the age of 2 years old I realized I wanted to help people in any way that I could, I soon realized the best way to do that was working in healthcare. This become more evident as I witnessed multiple tragedies, and illnesses in my family. Being raised by a single mother, and being a single mother myself, I realized that I wanted to beat all the stereotypes. I ended up getting three bachelor degrees and then finished it off with my PhD in nursing practice. I did multiple jobs as a nurse, ICU, Hospice, but I really wanted to help as many people as I could, so I decided to do family practice to be able to take care of entire families.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I had several struggles along the way. As a single mother I was always worrying about making sure I had enough money, being able to take care of my son, but I also had a mother who was ill and a sister and nephew who were also ill with cancer. I even faced homelessness at one point. So needless to say, there were several bumps on the road to where I am now.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about TP Health Multispecialty Clinic?
So, TP Health is a multispecialty clinic. I am the family practitioner, but we also offer other services, such as, counseling, psychiatry, neurology, nephrology, cardiology, infectious disease, hematology, and some other wellness and aesthetic services. What sets us apart is that we are a local clinic that is not a “big box” healthcare center. So while we do offer multiple specialties, and several services, when you come in you will see me greeting you, and you will see the rest of the staff that you see around the community doing different events, and just being a neighbor. What we are most proud of brand wise is being able to take care of the many needs of all of our patients in one setting. We are also proud of being able to serve our local communities and our veterans. We would like the readers to know is that we offer services for the entire family. We do counseling for kids and families, the same with psychiatry. We also have family practice where we see everyone from ages 1-99+, and we also offer wellness services such as the GLP-1 injections and several different peptides. We also offer PRP for skin rejuvenation and hair loss. We also try to help kids with sports physicals and we go to the schools so they do not have to worry about getting it done. All in all we will do as much as we can for the entire family.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is pretty much any memory that involves me spending time with my grandparents at their house in Nebraska and being able to be around my cousins and the rest of my family.
