Conversations with Kris Garner

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Kris Garner again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Kris, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
My name is Kris, I’m a multi-genre Music Producer & Audio Engineer. I have worked on songs like “Kwenu!” by John-Patrick, “Ca$happ” by River Lyons, “The Realest” by Hippy K, and more.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Since my last interview I’ve accumulated a total of 101 credits (songs I’ve worked on), and I have a total number of 606k streams and counting. I also began working at The Red Room Studio in Missouri City at the beginning of 2021 where I began to really grow my sound, craft, and network as an Audio Engineer and Music Producer in Houston.

Between 2023 & 2024 my biggest songs that I’ve produced were release. “Ca$happ” by River Lyons, “Kwenu!” by John-Patrick, as well as multiple songs on multiple projects with Hippy K. Including “The Realest”, “FaceTime”, & “Focused”.

In April of 2024 I earned the opportunity to intern at Lucky Run Studio, where I furthered my knowledge in live music production and analog recording gear. There I was able to fine-tune my knowledge in recording and mixing. And in September 2024 after 4 years in Houston I found new opportunity in New York. Houston was the place of my growth and my craft experience and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m grateful to the music scene in the city for everything it has taught me.

We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.
