Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born and raised in Bastrop/ Monroe La
Of William and Jacqueline Key. Eldest of 4 boys. Attended church at St Mary CME of Bastrop La. I started playing sports since the age of 7 baseball, basketball and football and realized early I was an exceptional athlete and leader.. 12 years of age moved to Monroe I attended Wossman High school started varsity each sports all 4 season making all state each years. Received a scholarship to Laney College in Oakland California graduated language arts associate of arts made all conference. Graduated Southern Utah University mass communications bachelor’s of arts made all American football my Sr year. Signed free agent with Miami Dolphins and was released from team and signed with BC Lions Vancouver Canada CFL.
Relocated to Sacramento California to start up Key beauty supply. 1997 moved to Dallas Texas to be closer to home and began to work for Nissan motors acceptance corporate office I began attending the Potters House received baptism under leadership of bishop t d Jakes and rededicated my life to the Lord. 2000 relocated to new port beach California and joined faithful central bible fellowship church under leadership of bishop Kenneth Ulmer and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Was called to youth pastor at Bethesda missionary baptist church ft worth Texas 2002. WAs license there 2003 ordained 2004 by pastor Gene Peyton. Since then I have founded 5 churches in 4 states ordained 8 Pastors
2019 I was diagnosed with kidney failure was placed on dialysis received a kidney transplant July 8 th 2022. Founded Kingston Life Ministries KLM Houston
1st service January 2024. Moved to Houston February 2024 no family or friends and never lived in Houston.
We are a ministry that is involved in the community with outreach that’s making a difference. Our mission statement
To restore kingdom order to release kingdom power for every day living.
We have made a great impact in a community that was known for prostitution drugs murder homelessness mental illness poverty
In a years time there are no traces of those activities present and some of those offenders have joined klm and lives have changed.
We are a non denominational church and believe in Jesus Christ is the Son of God and we a new covenant church that operates in grace and truth.
I am excited to be here in the great city of Houston Texas and believing God for the best is yet to come
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Early in ministry losing a son 2006 at 6 years old car accident. Building ministries in 4 states. Kidney failure doing Covid. Trusting God with no funding and leaving a 6 figure salary and home to relocate start a ministry with no building no members. Losing friends. Trust God to keep the lights on at the church.
