Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasia Taylor.
Tasia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began long before I published my first book. Back in 2021, my life changed when I willingly took in one of my students as a foster child. At only 21 years old I became a mother overnight to a 12 year old. Fast forward a year and a half later and I had adopted 3 teenagers. My life changed fast, and drastically but it built confidence within me. I started sharing our story online and it gained traction. We were invited to interview on talk shows, and were even offered a reality tv show. I decided it was in my families best interest to keep our lives private and stepped out of the influencer world. However; as a kindergarten teacher I fell in love with children’s books. I’ve always been an all or nothing kind of gal, so I taught myself to self publish and published 7 books in a year and a half. One thing I noticed was that the publishing realm is a predatory place, so I built my current platform offering free help to other authors and helped them build their brand and clientele. Most recently I launched a super small and niche marketing company called StoryBookMarketing Co where authors can pay me for services to build their page! In addition to that, I launched a podcast this summer where I interview other authors and discuss our books!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been easy. But the biggest thing I learned is that just because something is hard, doesn’t make it the wrong choice. One of the challenges was building credibility. I made a point to make everything cohesive and nice as to present myself as someone who was professional, despite just starting.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So – I do a lot of things. I’m the administrator of the Village Early Learning Center in fort smith, AR. We are the first and only intergenerational childcare center in Arkansas. It’s super unique because we are on the same campus as assisted and independent living senior residents.
I also am an Author, which 8 published titles, a podcast and a small marketing business. So that keeps me busy!
And then, if that wasn’t enough – I work part time as a waitress on the weekends.
All of these roles are super fulfilling for me.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I believe success can look different for anyone, but ultimately I want to make myself, my kids and my God proud. I want to prove to kids like me that they can do all they put their mind to.
