Conversations with Trav Reed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trav Reed.

Hi Trav, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started the business in July, and at the time I had 2 customers. This business started on foot, there was a job I could have taken, but I decided against it. I wanted to start in landscaping for many years.

I have a friend in Cybersecurity, his name is Bronson. and I pretty much told him that the work environment today is just getting worse and worse. So many companies using AI as an excuse to justify layoffs. But the truth is, most layoffs are still due to mismanagement by key players within the business. And me, being someone from a sales background. Companies will very quickly show you what’s under the hood. “We spend this much on marketing, here’s our CAC, here’s this and that. We need to do more with less.”

So I knew if I went back to work (I hadn’t worked in about a year at this point). It would be the same old nonsense. I’ve always been the ‘give you all the details and step back’ kind of salesperson, and this doesn’t really fit the sales culture today. Today, sales in a corporate environment is about maintaining the illusion of control, It’s about pretending that your boss’ suggestions are actually good so you can buy yourself a little bit more time while the ship is sinking. I did not want to go back into that. And since I don’t have a degree, my earning potential would be considerably less.

Basically it made more sense to knock doors in the Texas heat and pass out flyers for a brand that no one has ever heard of than it did to go back to a job like that.

Now, where is ReedMow now? ReedMow is in the sandbox. Digitally, physically. There’s some eyes on the business from potential customers, potential investors (nothing crazy), and Google search. We;re here and we’re working.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been smooth for the most part.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
ReedMow is a landscaping business that specializes in flat-rate lawn care for busy adults in Sugar Land Missouri City, and recently Stafford. This includes mowing, blowing, trimming, and free leaf bagging. We also offer small tree and bush trimming along with mulch and sod installation.

I am most proud of the great people I’ve had the privilege of working for me and the high customer satisfaction we maintain.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Sugar Land is a very peaceful and beautiful city. What I like least about it is, there isn’t a lot of p[aces to meet people in their early to mid 20s here.

Pricing:

  • $50 flat-rate lawn care service
  • Additional services, bush trim, tree trim, mulch and sod etc, start at $100
