Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoe Bailey.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I really got into slime in 2017 when my family relocated to Germany (my dad was in the military). I was 9 at the time and I loved watching slime videos on social media with my sister. It didn’t take us long to start constantly asking our parents for the supplies to make our own. We decided to start selling it at the markets on the base and everyone loved it. When we moved back to the United states, my sister no longer wanted to do it, so I decided to rename the shop to Zojo Bun Slime and my mom helped me get setup with my website and we started doing conventions and markets that we continue to do today. Now at the 18 years old I still run my slime shop online as well as sell my slimes at conventions across Texas, and other parts of the country. I was also the 2026 DECA State Champion in the Business Growth Plan and got to compete at the International conference as well. Winning the competition helped push me to stay the course and see where I can take my business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Having the business has definitely had its challenges along the way. I would say managing my time between the business, school and dance was challenging because I was in high school at the time. Since I have to create the art and designs for the labels, our packaging and make slimes, it has definitely caused me to experience burnout in the past. Its something I feel like most business owners experience but with the help and support of my family I’ve been able to work through it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an artist I decided to create a world around my brand that is engaging colorful and interactive. The branding of my slimes feature my original characters with my mascot Zojo Bun being at the center. I specialize in making unique scented DIY slimes with a variety of textures and themes. Our customers often ask questions like “is the slime edible” or “can I eat it” because they smell so good. Our products are for kids and adults alike. We often say our slimes are for both kids and kids at heart. I am currently working on creating merchandise and animated content of Zojo Bun and her friends.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always looking to collaborate with brands, events, and communities with our mission to bring slime to everyone. Slime has also been a big part of helping me calm my anxiety so I am very interested in working with businesses and organizations that help with mental health especially for kids and teens. Beyond slime, I love speaking with students about turning a hobby into a business, I have spoken at Kidpreneur and career day events and look forward to participating in more in the future.
