Courtney Wilkerson of Southside on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Courtney Wilkerson . Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Courtney , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
The most recent moment that has made me feel proud. In completing our second independent Sold Out tour with team Kentheman.

Moments of laughter happen everyday with my friends.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a talent manager and independent A&R. What makes my job most interesting is that I get a chance to wake up everyday and do what I love.

Right now I’m working on continuing to build my platform with artist. While Gaining more placements with my team of writers & Producers.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I believe my parents saw me before I could see myself.
They always pushed me to be apart of things where I could showcase my talents and personality.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I am so Proud of you.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
This music game. I am never stopping
The things I want from it is uncapped.
I want it all

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I stayed true to myself. I walked in every room as myself. I never wanted to be anyone else . Being Cool was naturally me. Even with my back against the wall at times, being told NO. I continued to get up everyday and stay consistent at my craft.
