Today we’d like to introduce you to Reginald Ford.
Hi Reginald, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Reginald ” Teddy Bear” Ford CEO & host of night Traxx Podcast formerly Lotl radio the Zone. Well in 2009 I started an online radio show in Houston Texas after relocating from Southern Californiaon on blog talk radio and initially I started to show to network with other businesses and I transitioned over doing to talk radio my brother at the time was telling me, hey why don’t you do a format like Howard Stern ,and that just wasn’t me. I grew up in South Central Los Angeles and radio was everything , listening to The quiet Storm & Rock stations and various DJ’s like Jim Ladd on how they conducted interviews. listening to artists come on the shows to discuss their music the stories behind the music it was always fascinating to me and I’ve always had a love affair with every genre of music . I changed my format and started doing live interviews with music artists from jazz , r&b , Rock , soul, gospel and country .
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest thing in the beginning was trying to make sure to get major artists on the show . you have to jump through hoops just trying to get to the artist publicist , management and record label it is a struggle because they’re not just going to let the artist come on any radio show . so I had to really put an initial greeting together to really let them know that this show was about music celebrating the artist and it took me roughly about a year to have my first major artist on the show and that was a late great George Duke , James Ingram then after that it was Phil Perry and the artist just kept coming. word of mouth spread through the internet that this radio show laying on the on radio and their host me the teddy bear was conducting interviews like how radio used to be.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
A lot of people say that radio is dead I don’t agree with that. I just feel that we’ve gotten so caught up about people’s personal lives instead of focusing on the music. I want you to sit back and remember what was it like to just listen to the radio and listen to an artist talk about the music what went into it to create the music the stories the the soul of a person a lot of artists do not have the ability to sit down and have a conversation with you and express their feelings they’re able to do that through the music.I believe so many shows today are predicated on gossip and hearsay and it’s not about the music anymore. We all have a calling and I felt my calling was to bring real music back to the airwaves to give the listeners something they can feel something that was relatable something that was going to take their emotions in a different direction
