Hi Ruby, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey everyone my name is Ruby Hernandez from Bellville, TX. I loved the whole beauty world ever since I was little! So in 2018, I took a certification class to do makeup professionally and ever since then, it’s been my dream come true. Right now, as of 2021, I have received my cosmetology license and am now a licensed instructor! All while being a wife and mother to three amazing kids!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. My husband and I became teen parents so that alone was one of the most challenging road I have done. Thank God my parents have always been so supportive and loving and understanding because without them, I wouldn’t be who I am today. My daughter, Melissa, has also made doing all these accomplishments worth striving for! My kids are my motivation and my client’s personalities make even more rewarding! I truly have the best people in my life! Theresa Perkins has also played a huge role in my life and I hope one day I live up to her legacy!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a licensed cosmetologist and instructor and certified makeup artist! I mostly specialize in quinceañera and event makeup but also in hair color! I’m my small town I am absolutely know for doing makeup, so that is what I am most proud in! Now I’m so proud to be here with you! My work, creativity and my professionalism sets me apart from others. I love being able to make everyone feel their best!

My main concern for hiring someone is knowing they have knowledge for sanitizing! No one wants other people’s germs on them. When it comes to collaborating or having a sponsor, I would want to be able to do all my creative ideas while still being true to myself.
