We’re looking forward to introducing you to Danica Danali. Check out our conversation below.
Danica, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Are you walking a path—or wandering?
The straight and narrow was never my style. I tend to wander with mischief. What more fun than life’s sweetest surprises. You can’t march straight ahead and expect to find magic and delight. The hidden, winding trails that stretch away from the beaten path is always the way to go.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a professional model and actress with a 15 year career in the adult industry. My experience spans major studio productions as well as collaborative, independent projects with fellow performers. I’m currently in discussions with a new production company where I’m set to become one of the prominent faces of their brand. Very exciting things coming.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Everyone else saw me. I never saw myself the way others did. I had to confront my own hang-ups and learn to listen. Once I opened my ears, I realized I was the only one holding onto those negative thoughts and I decided that wasn’t acceptable. Though I still wrestle with self esteem issues, I no longer give my inner demons the power they once had.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I truly did give up. Just four years into my career, I let a person I believed was a friend; a person who mistreated me and shattered countless promises; drive me away from the industry I loved. The hurt he caused made me never want to trust again. I let his cruelty chase me off, and for over a year, I walked away from everything I’d worked to build. Everything I’d put my heart and soul into. Because of him, I hid from it all. But then I overcame that. I changed my path once again and found my way out. I found the path I favored most and jumped back on without another negative thought!
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of myself isn’t entirely the real me. Naturally, the lines blur, and glimpses of my true self slip through from time to time. The real me is more modest, but outspoken. No make up, hair tied up and could easily be mistaken for just someone’s mom. The public me, on the other hand, is a confident exhibitionist, exuding an air of sophistication and poise that my real self doesn’t quite fully possess.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m absolutely doing what I was born to do. I was meant to entertain, to live my life in front of the camera. So many people; family, friends, even neighbors; told me not to pursue this path. But I’m grateful I chose to listen to myself instead. I couldn’t be happier with where I am today and Im so excited to keep moving forward and seeing what else life surprises me with!
